I was a grad student when the 2007 IPCC report came out, the two highest emissions pathways predicted warming of 3.4 or 4 degrees. "A bit less than 3C" is still too high, but thanks to activists, scientists, and policymakers we have brought the number down. Our climate future is still being written.

A big takeaway for me from this story is that if you're going to be reporting on conflicts between offshore wind and fishing fleets, it's important to also report on the impacts of ocean warming that the new turbines will help ease.
And look to cover solutions, not just photogenic fishing captains.
