(2/2) It leads to a slow degradation of the CPU clock circuit which causes weird behavior.
And the game Stalker 2 gave me the final hint for it, through a random forum post, because it too kept crashing on decompressing shaders, just like the Linux install decompressions.
CPU underclocked > works 🫠

(1/2) I had a success moment yesterday. After trying to unsuccessfully install Linux like 30 times with 6 Distros and 3 USB Sticks I have finally found the culprit: An Intel 13th/14th Gen CPU hardware issue (Vmin Shift) 😩
I did install a BIOS patch back then, but it seems it was a tad too late...

But starting from scratch there and discovering cool stuff takes a while since it's not really algorithm based.
Also you won't find most big mainstream artists/labels.

(1/2) It's very freeing, in a sense, to own my own FLAC music library I have curated over the years, which I can also stream anytime with Jellyfin and nobody can take that away from me.
It also helps that Bandcamp made the capital-W move of banning AI music entirely off their platform!

It's really disheartening to see real art get buried deeper and deeper under mountains of low-effort AI trash, no matter the medium.
I'm glad to have found many good artists on Bandcamp over the years already, which I support directly. But yeah, music discovery on streaming sites is going downhill 😿

Installing an OS should not be this hard, I'm running Linux on my NAS and on countless docker containers, but somehow installing it on my desktop just refuses to work.
Followed all advice I could find (disabling secure boot, installing on separate drive, etc), all in vain. But I'll keep trying...

Really wanted to start my move to Linux today, but seems like something wants to prevent me from doing that at all costs.
Tried 3 different bootable USBs, and 4 different distributions (CachyOS, Nobara, Bazzite, Garuda). All of them either failed to install with varying errors or had major issues...
