This sounds great. I’m actually quite nervous it will set me off a bit; which is precisely why I need to read it. The 80’s are between my mother’s “breakdown” in the late 60’s & my own struggles as a mom 4 decades later. My visceral reaction to the article tells me a lot.

This is 100% true. For every victim that’s come forward and been judged, criticized and attacked, there are a multitude of victims silently watching and listening. We will choose not to come forward because we see what happens if we do.

Interesting read.We had an Asian massage parlor across from our elementary school and it was 100% a trafficking and prostitution situation.I went to “book an appt” & the door was answered by a woman in lingerie with the lights off and was told to book at the (completely fake) “hair salon” next door.

Sigh. I’ve only been there once, almost two decades ago visiting my brother. Loved it there.

I was terrified to compete at regionals. We didn’t talk about how we felt about things back then. I’m glad I fractured my ankle - it all worked out.

I purposely tried to break my wrist by falling on it multiple times so I didn’t have to compete in a regional gymnastics event in middle school. I ended up accidentally fracturing my ankle so it all worked out.
