Love it. The aesthetic smacks hard of MegaMan Legends and I am HERE for it.

I have an interesting concept to run by you all, #gamedev
How do we feel about sprite work made by rotoscoping over live video?
Is this something that's been done already? If so, where should I look?
Pros and cons of starting to play #hackmud
Pro: good hackerman-style mmo with LORE
Con: it's too engaging for my puzzle-focused head
Pro: you get to add your own content and tools via javascript
Con: it's keeping me from game dev someone help the domain is holding me hostage send the milita--
No time to explain! Describe one of your favorite game entries or franchises poorly!
A pair of twins hack their way into saving the world.
1. Many battle-royale games, but Fork Knife was the first to do the killer storm mechanic
2. Minesweeper
3. You lost me
4. Best I can guess is 2048 or Connect 4
5. Fruit Ninja
This is absolutely cursed.... I love it 🤣
Of course; I love the crap out of stardew. I used it as an example purely from the angle of "pixel graphics is not 4k 3d models, and despite that it's a big success for ConcernedApe"
I mean, I would hope that gameplay is the largest factor in a buy, I simply wonder how much of the visual aspect impacts player's decisions. I don't think anyone bought games like Hackmud or Stardew Valley for the visuals, for example.
Got a question for my fellow gamers out there because I'm curious what the general opinion of the community as a whole is:
Generally speaking, do you look for graphical fidelity or aesthetics when considering a game purchase? Do you think the two concepts are mutually exclusive?
This is insanely clean. I hope I get anywhere close to this good at pixel animation.
There's fog rolling in where I live this morning
As a Persona fan, I wonder who pissed off Izanami.
It's simply waiting to make something ELSE added later to seem broken. Don't trust it 🤣
I was thinking Roger Wilco of Space Quest fame, myself, but I see the resemblance from that screenshot.
Is that inspiration from Persona, I smell?
Looks good!
I'm coming to the conclusion that it's surprisingly difficult to find enough concrete and/or generally canonical information on certain aspects of cultural characters that I can reasonably adapt to my needs for the narrative I want to tell.
I envy your skill with arranging the silly colored squares. This is well done, and I look forward to seeing how the project turns out!
It's neat tech, for sure. Makes generating 3d models of things a lot easier than doing it all 100% by hand.
Apparently, it was used for the Matrix movies in places, too. So that's neat.
Heck yeah a fellow DBD enjoyer.
That said, since I see it in that thumbnail, EAC is pretty alright compared to other solutions, imo. At least it doesn't absolutely require secure boot/windows-only to work (looking at you, Valorant)
Unfortunate. One can still hope, though; I don't imagine it takes much for a piece of kernel-space software to become enough of a problem.
This is a joke, I barely have a GDD for my own project lol
Personally hoping the talk I've heard about Microsoft making changes to kill kernel-level acces from third party software actually comes about so I can stop having/hearing the gaming excuse to need Windows
A small part of me thought we were on the path to it when they rolled out WSL. That said, they'll never give up on their favorite pile of ad revenue they call an operating system.
Don't quote me, but I believe the original intent was for efficiency; make the states count their own ballots independent of the others so we hopefully get a result faster.
Nowadays, where the process is technically electronic, it seems to me a bit silly, but 🤷
Yeah, sure, sex sells and all that, but could we at least get some actual gameplay of your actual game in the ads, please?
The "hey, look, tiddies" form of advertising is nearly as bad as the "here's gameplay video of nothing to do with the game you're downloading" plague that's so prevalent today.
Since it's been years since I've touched FL in any capacity, I have to ask: I thought Harmor was capable of wavetable synthesis? Or is Harmor not a stock plugin?
Then I think the question is, "Why not hi-res photos?" I hear "digitized photos/video of actors" and think games like OG Mortal Kombat, Phantasmagoria, and the like.
That said, the pixellated look is a vibe and looks great in some indie games that use it (hall monitor in Baldi's, for example)
Imo a lot of it has to do with the AAA industry's general obsession with like.
MORE PIXELS
MORE POLYS
MAKE IT LOOK LIKE REAL LIFE IN YOUR CONTROL
MAKE THEM TIDDIES BOUNCE MORE BOOBILY
.... Ahem. point is, the industry, on the whole, is more concerned with photorealism than fun experiences.
The joke here being the expectation for Windows to figure much of anything out concerning consumer desires of the product at this point.
If you send a message to a device owned by a sysadmin that he cannot respond through, is that called a manpage? 🤔
