Comic of man in tattered suit by a fire speaking to children saying "Yes, the planet got destroyed. But for a beautiful moment in time we created a lot of value for shareholders."

I'm hoping to attend Worlds this year in Michigan! My best friends live nearby so I was planning on a two-fer.

You have amazing home courses!!

It is crazy it hasn't caught on. But, our favorite sport is also kind of dorky I guess - so I get why haha

Disc golf/ultimate. Cheap sports that can be played with 1-22 people and have a history of "spirit of the game" rules, mixing genders, and can be played with a range of equipment/playing fields.

I'm biased as hell, but I stand by what I said. :)

Sometimes I help with studying vertebrates.

Fun review paper led by Leah McTigue - I do think folks interested in drought and insects can learn a lot from it, too. I did!

I overheard someone exclaim on campus today, "He tried mansplaining a derivative to me. Like, who doesn't know what a derivative is?!"

Similar but different, but gave me a nice chuckle. lol

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)

Anyone dealt with challenging an "Ineligible" determination on a GRFP proposal?

A student's proposed was DQ'ed stating: "Applicants must select research in eligible STEM or STEM education fields."

However, Ecology is clearly listed in the solicitation. www.nsf.gov/funding/oppo...

Any wisdom?
