JUST WHAT I NEEDED RIGHT NOW

My GP is moving. Last day of her practice here is June 30th.
The form letter I got said to get myself on the Health Connect Registry ASAP, so I did that.
They suggest walk-in clinics or urgent cares while waiting. We don't have either of those things. Guess I am going to get familiar with the ER.
Personally? I'd ask my accountant because I don't do my own taxes.
If I self-filed I would probably just suck it up and call them. Settle in for a long hold-time with a cup of tea and a good book.
Sorry this is happening to you. CRA can suck eggs.
🤢
Some excellent resources here (this is mostly for me but hey who knows who will read this skeet):

Not asking anyone to do any emotional labour for me about this, btw. Just noticing.
I am not going to be performative about it. I know that much. I will just do my best and speak from my heart.
Working on an intro to iNat presentation for mid-May, and I gotta say, writing a meaningful land acknowledgement as an old white settler-descendent dude feels both absolutely essential & difficult to do because of how performative it feels.
I haven't made a public presentation since.. a LONG time.
Okay, it's going on my library list. I may not know as much as you do about mutual aid, and if you get a few tidbits from it then maybe I will too!
(Thank you, again, for sharing your ugggggghhhhhs!)
My vote was going to be yes! Such a pretty bird.
I was going to do some random garden maintenance (grease the wheels on my wheelbarrows, move a branch pile, drag some fencing out from under the deck) but it is too sunny and hot. No wind. It feels like July out there.
So now I have some after dinner plans in the garden! 😀
We vibed. SADLY.
But also: one session, learned a few new tools for helping with a specific problem. WIN.
Thunder Bay On police launch new pilot program to address downtown safety concerns public safety is an ongoing issue in downtown cores across Canada
“an ongoing issue in downtown cores across Canada”? PERHAPS THIS INDICATES SOMETHING SOMETHING SYSTEMIC MAYBE
Feel. This. In. My. Bones.
Thanks for sharing. And that seems like a great way to balance it out. Hope you are enjoying the novel a lot. ♥️
It's already checked. I think it was because it was a .gif? I'm gonna look into that after my appointment.
For fuck's sake, no alt text.
A .gif of Steve Carrell as Michael Scott, scrunching his face up in a very disgusted way.
Appointment with new counsellor in 20 mins.
I am spending more on this one hour than I did on my last two trips to the garden center combined.
I almost cancelled the appointment half a dozen times in the last few days.
I am almost hoping that we don't vibe. I can't afford to vibe.
To be fair, I didn't know it was down. 🤣
Spoiler: Yes, yes, we are.
a photo of a page called "South Coastal BC Vegetable Planting Guide" taken from the West Coast Seeds paper catalogue. I have highlighted the bits I care about this year. In the bottom right corner, there is a sticker of a head of lettuce covering the dats for the Tri-Cities, Vancouver, and Victoria. Victoria's growing season is 256 days and I am JEALOUS. And apparently petty.
I am putting together a blog post about how I track my garden so I took a few pics of my binder.
I laughed when I saw this page, because I artfully placed a sticker in the corner and it just so happened to cover the Victoria growing season dates, of which I am JELLY AF.
Do not tempt me!! I am finally watching my amaranth winnowing video!! 🤣
Inexplicably, I started my day by crying while watching YT shorts. I loaded the website to watch a video about growing amaranth, and ended up watching people rescue animals & then somehow a flight instructor talking a brand new pilot through a landing with no nose wheel and what am I doing lol.
Is it the Dean Spade one? It's on my wishlist and I'd love to know if I should maybe either skip it or take it out from the library.
If I have the spoons, for sure! I am mostly growing it for the pollinators. And because it was free. And pretty!
Made green thai curry for dinner.
MY FACE IS MELTING OFF AND I LIKE IT.
I was gifted some flax seeds from a prairie based native plant seed company (free with my purchase of poached egg plant seeds) and I am going to do a big container of them!
I am so stoked you have a dye garden going. It's so cool.
That's it folks. I didn't start any warm season plants other than these due to limited grow light space. The rest will be direct sowed next month! Or bought at the nursery, in the case of tomatoes and sweet peppers and container strawberries.
You now live in northern Quebec in my head. Tapping maple trees in your spare time and inventing curse words about the pope. And smoking French cigarettes?
Can you tell I've never been to northern Quebec? Hah.
12 cannabis seedlings seen from overhead. The pink light to the right is from their lights (I slid them out so I could take a photo). Wedding Cake and Critical 2.0 for those wondering about strains. :)
Two sad jalapeno seedlings in seedling trays. :)
Indoor garden:
First, a pleasing overhead shot of my cannabis seedlings. They got a bit leggy at the start but are better now.
Second, the only two jalapenos that sprouted from the 18 I planted. 🤣 They look wet because I just fertilized them. I promise I am not overwatering! 🤣
