seven months on beehiiv, by the numbers was leaving substack worth it?

There's a lot of talk about leaving Substack & whether it will be the death-knell of your newsletter. I have been on Beehiiv for 7 months now & @tlpavlich.gay helped me run some numbers. So, was leaving Substack worth it? The answer, for me, has been a resounding "yes."

Here are the hard numbers:

I'm not the least bit surprised. The reasons for leaving substack grow by the day.

I think of this every time Roberta Kaplan is in the news. Otherwise known as Robert A. Kaplan, defending Riot Games against allegations of unequal pay and systemic sexual harassment.

MONTANA SUPREME COURT: “Transgender discrimination is, by its very nature, sex discrimination,” and is subject to strict scrutiny under the Montana Constitution.

You cannot fix the immigration system without Congress. That is the message I have. No president can do it on their own. The system is fundamentally flawed and needs major systemic reform.

She? All four women? Or just one? Did you read the statement from his senior staff? They believe the accusers. That should be enough.

This is exactly why women don’t report. Even with PROOF, people don’t believe them.

Knowing what happens after, it is totally understandable it took a long time for someone to take a stand. And the people who minimize that can go take a swim off the Farallon Islands.

I do not think people appreciate how difficult it is to stand against your own political party. The women who said enough, we won’t watch a serial sexual assaulter get elected to California’s highest office took a huge risk for themselves and their families.
