Principles of change Shared values Be alert to occult patriarchy Start with inclusion
Focus on shared values slide The rising tide lifts all boats - John F Kennedy
Be alert to occult patriarchy
Patriarchy/ characteristics of system not as gender stereotype.
When we start with inclusion we design a system that meets our goals. So often we ‘retrofit’ onto a system that ends up one size fits no one. also liked the clarification around patriarchy as system not gender stereotype.
Thank you @liangrhea.bsky.social @medicalwomenuk.bsky.social @idrf.bsky.social
It truly is. I love that I also met Dame Professor Averil Mansfield and the three of us mainly discussed crochet 🧶 and Wimbledon tennis 🎾

Jo I’m going to London to hear @liangrhea.bsky.social speak - sadly I think you are operating all day on Monday 30th June?
Absolutely this. Please can we invest in supporting families to enable them to give their children a healthy start in life. Affordable housing, food, access to outside space to play and so much more. Invest in education for all children that is inclusive and meets children’s needs…
Not posting as much here as my network seems to have moved to linked in.
Wanted to tag in @lucygobag.bsky.social as I’m sure there will be some interesting discussion over there!

she agreed with an argument put forward…that it is "risky or …intimidating" to have a space designated for women, that is occupied by men.
"But that applies to me too," she added.
"That danger is all the more…one woman - in an entirely male space in a drunk pub.”
@brendonbooks.bsky.social I’m really looking forward to this - hope there is a date in the planning with @robinince.bsky.social

Hello. Everyone is welcome, but there is a charge except for @medicalwomenuk.bsky.social, IDF or WinS members. £33.22 (evening 6-9pm of lovely venue, drinks, canapes, amazing talk by @liangrhea.bsky.social, great company, vintage architecture/toilets) BOOK: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/an-evening...
We need I think a structure to relax into - it contains conversations without restraining / restricting rather like a comfy jumper a few sizes too big…
I also love the idea of a spaces for listening gathering. A morning welcome then perhaps 4 spaces with different groups and long breaks in a day. Somewhere lovely with big squishy chairs and delicious food…
Afternoon Charlie - I love the idea of a talk / starter on a theme and then as @brigidrussell51.bsky.social says some sort of free flowing unfolding (love that idea) conversation perhaps in smaller groups with option to perhaps move around in different combinations.
☹️
Oh yes of course I am sure you are 🥰 @scarlettmcnally.bsky.social can you confirm?
Oooh look - ticket booked to listen to the fabulous and meet @liangrhea.bsky.social in real life.
Ping @eye-surgeon-eve.bsky.social @katestakes.bsky.social @survivinginscrubs.bsky.social anyone free to join me?
The SAS six campaign national support, including the RCP, RCOA, RCPCH, Association of Anaesthetists, HCSA, Medical Protection, the GMC, the Intensive Care Society, the Medical Women's Federation, and now the National Association of Medical People Specialists.
We are incredibly grateful to our friends and allies.
Each of these organisations has issued statements of support for the #SASsix campaign.
What we have in common is a belief that supporting every doctor to reach their potential is good for services and patients, as well as these doctors.
