We spoke to him in light of the anniversary, to revisit decades of advocacy, legal innovation and artist‑led organising that laid the groundwork long before ARR reached Parliament.
A barrister and art lawyer, Henry Lydiate’s early work and long‑standing commitment to supporting artists played a key role in the creation of DACS and the adoption of ARR in the UK 20 years ago.

Andy Warhol’s 'Eggs' (1982) began as playful Easter gifts shared among family and friends, later evolving into a series of large‑scale works. Created in the last decade of his career, the paintings show Warhol exploring abstraction beyond the Pop Art imagery he was best known for.
