Cat owners: I’m making a music video with The Catenary Wires & we’re after some pics.
Specifically:
- you under your cat
- your cat on its own (whole cat, pls: head, paws, tails etc)
+ the names of you & your cat
If you’re up for it, pop them in the replies. We'll use as many as we can.
Thanks!

The picture shows Bladder Campion flowers and buds against a green, background, (foliage). The flowers have white petals and pink patterned bladders behind each flower.
A group of pink Red Campion flowers against a bamboo fence with a fir tree in the background.
A single White Campion flower with buds against a green background.
If you love Moths, grow some Campions in your garden 🦋
Red Campion, (which is pink 😊), White Campion and Bladder Campion, (both white) all provide food for adult moths and some of their caterpillars 🐛
Visit our Planting for Wildlife page for more suggestions 😊

“For this glass is not just for the believer or the in-crowd - but for ordinary people like me.”
In a world that grows more complex by the day, it’s easy to pass things like this by. Here's why we shouldn’t.

🦇 Happy #BatAppreciationDay! Bats matter across the UK and around the world. Bat species play a vital role in ecosystems, from agricultural land to tropical forests. They pollinate plants, disperse seeds and eat insects which damage crops.

Have you ever been criticised in public for using a Blue Badge? I’m looking to gather disabled people’s experiences for The Guardian to explore hostility around the Blue Badge and Motability schemes.
We’ve made a quick form you can fill in here: www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a... (Please share.)

The National Day of Action is happening on Saturday April 18th. It is an opportunity to show all our politicians that we care deeply about the natural world and want to see it protected and restored.

And after the RHS Flower Show (19-23 May), it will be relocated to Clydach Community Gardens in Swansea! Yay bats!
There are 1,500 scientifically described species of bat in the world, each plays a unique role in the ecosystems where they are found.
In the UK we have 18 resident species all of which eat insects. Four of the British mammals at highest risk of extinction are bats. www.bats.org.uk/about-bats/w...
Two photos of bluebells posted side by side. They look very similar but text boxes and arrows highlight their key characteristics. The photo on the left is of English bluebells wth curved, droopy stems with flowers mostly on one side. The tips of petals curl back, the flowers are narrow and deep blue-violet in colour. The photo on the right is of Spanish bluebells which are pale blue with wide bell-shaped flowers. Flower tips flare out and the upright stems display flowers on all sides.
Are you able to identify which bluebells are the native English variety and which are the more vigorous Spanish bluebell? This might help.
Also, use your nose. The English bluebells have a sweet scent, whereas their Spanish cousins have little to no scent.

I wrote and posted this to Instagram a couple of days ago and it became my most-read poem ever. I’m honored I get to feel big feelings alongside you all. I’m posting it here too and want to use this space more consistently. Hello friends ❤️
Did u know? Flies are essential in healthy ecosystems: they're pollinators; they're organic matter recyclers; their huge numbers feed other bigger animals & their diverse numbers mean that they add to the varied biodiversity on earth. So don't swat, celebrate 🌱🌿🇬🇧🌱🌍🪲🪰
Hidden in plain sight: the polite facade of Richborough House in Sandwich, Kent, hides a late C16th timber framed house with brick nogging.
As a kid in the 70's, my parents let me watch the film of 'On The Beach'. Absolutely terrified me.
