Hokay, so I'm changing my mind about this: All the various cinematic and lore drop teases released so far have all had one element in common: Fear.
Diablo is, quite literally, the Lord of Terror.
It's starting to feel like Lord of Hatred is foreshadowing Diablo's return.
Screenshot of a social media post by Brianna Wu (@BriannaWu) that reads: "One of my biggest hopes for the future is that we can come up with some sort of test in utero to determine if a child is going to grow up to be transsexual, and then opt them out of the gene pool. It's, I can tell you firsthand, it's a horrific way to grow up, one that no ethical person should want to inflict on a child. The reason the trans community is so unstable online is the developmental damage that we invariably get. It's like a house being built where every floor is leaning, and by the time you get to the top, the entire structure is unstable. Repairing that damage has taken me a lifetime."
Brianna Wu advocates for the extermination of trans people by engaging in eugenicist selective abortions of fetuses determined to be trans.
Either way though, L'ura's voice acting is amazing. There's a menace and a sense of doom associated with the boss that I don't think would've been possible without the actor framing it in the way they did.
All that being said: I have no idea if K'ara representing a trans pride symbol was canonical, nor if L'ura's voice acting was specifically intended to be a trans allegory vs emphasizing the whole androgynous/gender-neutral nature of the naaru -- I guess both can be true in the latter case?
Image depicts the Naaru character, K'ara, from World of Warcraft's Warlords of Draenor expansion.
Image depicts a symbol commonly associated with the international transgender pride flag. In this context, it's being juxtaposed with the preceding image of K'ara.
Back in WoD, I was informed that K'ara was intended to be a subtle nod to a trans member of the community, with the Naaru's shape allegedly being a nod to the trans pride flag.
I need to emphasize: This is what I was told by the person whom it was allegedly a tribute to. Never checked beyond that.
I have so many questions about L'ura's voice acting in Midnight.
Besides being an absolutely phenomenal performance (and very much in-line with the entire "unknowable dark angel" nature of the character), the gender neutral aspect of the acting has me wondering if it's an intentional nod to K'ara.
Happy Birthday!

So uh, is anyone currently playing Midnight in a larger Retail guild that's open to casual joiners?
Mostly just looking for quality folks to play with on no set schedule or expectations. Organized Mythic+ and Heroic raid groups would be nice but absolutely not expected.
Oh God Vitty, that's awful. I'm so sorry, please get it checked out asap
So on top of making no real effort to bring in more users by adopting many of the features that originally drew folks to Twitter, Bsky's also doubling down on AI-centered "vibecoding"?
Kinda wild that multiple Devourer Demon Hunter builds just plain avoid taking the spec's Apex Talents entirely.
Not sure if this is intentional and applied to other specs, but why even go through the trouble of creating "apex" talents in the first place then?
And now we include Turkey to the list?
Goodness.
Watching Israel's hasbarist cabal crash out on Twitter over grievances with Pakistan, Spain, AND South Korea at the same time was not on my bingo card this year, but can't say I'm not enjoying the spiral.
One thing that's easy to miss about the just-released House of Hikmah is that the Islamic Scholars are known with the same awe and reverence as superheroes in Western culture. It'd be hard to grow up without learning of the exploits of some of these characters.

NGL, one of my favorite side-quests out of Midnight so far is facilitating the romance between Gaari and Solwin Brightstitch. It's so adorable!
As cynical as I am about ongoing events, the JD Vance memes from Pak Twitter are truly epic. Highly recommended for the entertainment value!
Roxi, I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending you love and hoping you're able to take solace in those dear you you. Big hugs, friend.
Mythic L'ura looked like an absolutely bonkers boss. Well done to anyone that kills it in this state.
Oh no, JD Vance is staying at the Islamabad Serena?
I feel very sorry for the poor sofa in his room.
I'm also looking *so* forward to the banality of US-based "commentators" talk about Pakistan being in the Middle East, being an "Arab nation", possibly drawing upon a dozen or so racist caricatures of politician's names, etc.
Maybe "I'm a dinner jacket" will be refashioned for this new narrative?
Without giving my exact location away, my entry into the city usually takes me right near the center :(
But yeah, goal is to try and stock up in the next 2-3 days.
What we can probably expect in Islamabad over the next few days:
-Lockdowns and curfews during the talks, which is going to suck for residents
-High alert for spoilers
-A direct push to use this leverage towards restoring the Indus Water Treaty and possibly securing new loans
NOW: B52 bombers are literally in the air on their way to Iran and hundreds of thousands of Iranians are in the streets waving flags and surrounding bridges & power plants.
Difficult to imagine this has any precedent in modern warfare.

I have a feeling @ketsuki.com will appreciate this in particular

Not exaggerating when I say that future justifications for North American and European universities becoming targets of terror attacks will be linked right back to this + Israel's targeting of academic institutions in Gaza and Lebanon.
This is an important read.
The irony of this being that part of the reason Twitter had such immense success was due to regions like ours -- especially when one considers how often it was used to circumvent authoritarian censorship measures, such as with the Arab spring.
Time really is a flat circle, isn't it?
I hear you. Can't exactly comment since, you know, no Mac compatibility -_-
But I get that many of its systems feel like downgrades
