More medical fun times. Woke up with a sore eye on Monday, by the evening it was very sensitive to light. Went to UTC on Tuesday, diagnosed with Uveitis, prescribed three types of eyedrops. This morning everything felt fine and I walked my eldest to school in the sunshine. Thanks to the NHS!

Worth reiterating that although I’ve been here 24hrs I have seen multiple excellent health professionals, had multiple blood tests, an ECG, two ultrasounds, antibiotics, steroids and a heart & lung CT scan. All free at the point of use. I’d hate to think what it would have cost me in the US model.

As we pass 24hrs I had a chat with the Doctor, he’s prescribing some water pills to clear the fluid on my lungs and he did a whole bunch of blood tests. I have to come back on Monday for a follow up. All cannulas removed just waiting on the prescription and then to be reunited with my family.

Yes but not as much of late. I’ve had a few CAD projects lately so they were done in Fusion. For me, nothing beats blender for roughing something out quickly and I’ve used it for plenty of designs for 3d prints but a parametric tool just makes more sense with prototyping.

Just had an update that the medical team are reviewing my case and results and they will make a decision as to what to do next. There is a chance that means staying in.

CT done. I chatted to another patient who was horrified I’d been her over 20hrs. When he left he bid me farewell and said “I hope you don’t see tomorrow” and then rather sheepishly added “here”. 😂

Coming up on 20hrs. Given up hope of getting home to sleep so have started on the coffee. Current situation they have found fluid in my lung that wasn’t there on an unrelated CT a month ago. They don’t know where it came from so the whack-a-mole procedures will continue.

I brought noise cancelling headphones massive battery bank, cables and a retro handheld console. None of it is holding my attention though and I’m just trying to stay awake to not miss being called.

My wife and my youngest daughter dropped in to visit me (and liberate the car). Which was a welcome interruption. Tiny person cuddles are truly powerful.
