I worry that the machine keeps getting bad parts over and over because the people who put them in are working on their own machine. One that only ever is designed to service themselves. A lot of those corrosive parts think they will get used in that new machine too. Most will just get run over

The piece that fell off certainly was terrible and toxic and no one will miss it. We are glad it is gone and can’t get reinstalled. But we can’t repair the machine as long as those parts are still in it. The people putting those corrosive pieces in keep doing so.

Eventually that part is discarded, thrown aside and forgotten but the damage in the machine is left over. A lot of people wonder why the one who discarded that piece that fell off doesn’t start pulling out some of the pieces that are actively damaging the machine instead

Every once in a bad piece falls off the machine. For some reason it is usually after it has already done so much damage but it almost always falls off completely clean. It leaves all the grime and rust in the machine instead. The part sits there looking very proud.

But everyone else can’t. The machine impacts a lot of things but it also is suppose to help most people. It can make things that no one else is interested in making and help people no one else is interested in helping. But these bad parts put in by bad actors makes it so the machine doesn’t work.

But some people have started replacing parts of the machine. These parts are cheap and owned by the people putting them in so they like it because they get rich. It doesn’t matter that it corrodes the machine from the inside or makes it poison everything around it. They can just ignore the machine.

There is this Machine and it has pieces and parts from a lot of different people and groups. Some people think the machine could be better, and others rage against it. Not everyone agrees how the machine should run or if it even should run at all.

My work has one of those little “here is points to spend at the special mall!” And I usually just get gift cards I can use to pay for groceries. But for reasons I don’t know why I selected a drone instead. This should be interesting
