Pop culture discourse on social media is so damn tiring as everything gets turned into either a culture war or a console war by grifters, fake fans, and clout chasers who you know don't actually care about that thing.
Real FOMO kicking in seeing everyone enjoy Tomodachi Life lol

This image is a rendition in my style of a screenshot taken from the game "Sonic Adventure" which features Amy Rose with a big smile.
This is the screenshot from "Sonic Adventure" that I used as reference for my sketch study.

If you vote for, or provide rhetorical cover for, any politician that allows Palantir permission to even speak to your government, then that politician is a nazi and so are you. This is as true in Britain as it is in America.
The Raid:
What happens if you;
- Take the best stunts / martial arts guys working today.
- Put them in a dark, grimy setting that sells how horribly extreme this combat would be for real.
- Keep the bleak but faulty story threadbare.
- Get Mike Shinoda to do the soundtrack.
You get *The Raid*.
A quick heads up; The UK government is currently holding a consultation on the Online Safety Act. The consultation lasts until the end of next month.
Please fill it out if you live in the UK and/or share it around to get more eyes on it.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga:
It’s a weaker film than Fury Road in every way, but don’t make the mistake in thinking it’s a bad film. It’s surprisingly great for what it is actually, and is able to make for some good action set pieces and story despite its flaws.
Enter the Dragon:
While I’m of a different generation, I can absolutely see why this genre mashup would‘ve been mindblowing back in its day. It also made me finally understand the appeal of Bruce Lee; the emotions and muscle strain in the pauses between moves sells the pain of every hit dealt.
Good, AI generated Ghibili memes and Japanese inspired vaporwave art to promote fascism by fuckless groyper losers in the US Government need to be shunned and condemned in strongest terms.
Suspiria (1977): I was not in the most stable state when I watched this, but I didn’t need to be. This film has fucking impeccable vibes from the moment the titles start through to its credits, while still giving you breathing room. It‘ll likely challenge Hellraiser as my favourite horror film.
If you wanna inject some positivity into this world, my request to you is:
If you like a creative person (artist, musician, craftsperson, literally anything), tell them you like their stuff. Doesn't have to be me, in fact I'd prefer it if it wasn't, but you'll make their day, I promise.
I’ve introduced a friend to the John Wick films and they/he went from being squeamish and describing the films as very heavy emotional investments, to revelling in the violence and coming up with the stupidest memes in real time.
😳
It’s okay Bluesky, you work when you feel like it
No amount of poor functionality will ever convince me to go back to the platform formerly known as Twitter.
I cannot picture something small like the Bowser puppet in any other Illumination film, nor anything from the conveyer belt of nostalgia-baiting pop culture.
Also gonna write up a couple more posts
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie:
Like eating lots and lots and lots and lots of candy.
With all the pros and cons of eating all of your nostalgic and less remembered flavours over the course of two hours.
Yeah I did like this, but more so because small non-synthetic ingredients were smuggled in.
