Loki went to the AWS office for the first time today, and even got his own badge! He was a good boi, and offered to eat any bugs we find in our code.

no worries, if your current method works just stick with it! I'm all in on MFA/password managers but whatever works for ya 🫡

ah yeah makes sense, I was wondering how job seekers would have such a high retention rate, since it's natural to job hop. Makes more sense for companies, thanks!

Are "clients" in this context the companies doing the hiring? Or the people being hired?

I feel like this will be a solved issue once we get custom algos/federation. Could make an algo to specifically raise up posts from the US/EU timezones X hours after post time

A B-tree is a specific type of self-balancing binary tree. Nodes can have multiple keys which results in less memory usage, reduced tree height, quicker access.

I know you aren't a fan of the data structures/algos side of things but if you DO want to understand HOW it's all working, you gotta dive in. Geeksforgeeks is a good resource: https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/introduction-of-b-tree-2/

SQL itself is just a language someone invented. Standard Query Language.

The magic is in how the underlying database (MySQL/Postgres/MsSql) is coded. Relational databases are based on B-trees, which is what makes them very fast. B-trees would be a good point to dive into if you're still curious

that would be an incredibly expensive operation

Yep it's due to the algorithm here being mostly "dumb" right now. On Twitter, things will hang around more if they are still getting engagement. Here it's more purely chronological. Once custom servers/algos release that should change a bit.

Love the optimism. I think it will just turn into the same thing once enough users show up, but I hope not.

Hmm I'll try it again sometime I guess, I was using chrome but was a unable to login. No error showed or anything, just clicking the login button and nothing happens.
