And is also what US Dems failed to do 2020-24 and are not doing now - with some notable exceptions

They didn't earn it by voters going 'ah they are putting the work in, good stuff'. They earned it by persuading loads of voters through ground work and being willing to steadfastly oppose the regime and promise accountability and protection
