Odd fact for the day - a jewel encrusted copy of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam was lost when the Titanic sank. Why was it on board with its (presumably also unfortunate) courier? To avoid customs duties.

Endangered Mexican axolotl discovered by girl, 10, under a bridge in Wales Evie and her mother were enjoying a day trip to south Wales when they came across the amphibian.

Crumbs! Not what you expect to find in Bridgend!

I think there are practical issues - not everyone has tablets / readers big enough, and for some instruments their use is more problematic than others. Some people find them harder to view too, and music can present really oddly in digital formats. Like you I also worry about retention.

Heard from a music publisher today who is discontinuing paper sheet music publications. The times they are a-changing. :-(

Don't know quite how but I've never watched it till now. Knew the 70 up show was going to be on soon, so thought I'd finally watch and am completely hooked. Just starting 21 up

Watching 7 Up. It was filmed a year or two before I was born. So much is familiar, but it feels like a different world. Love little Neil who announces that if he can't be an astronaut he'd like to be a coach driver.

I did a few years ago and it was an absolute delight. Such charismatic little birds

Bach Double Violin Concerto - Yehudi Menuhin And David Oistrakh.
Bach Double Violin Concerto - Yehudi Menuhin And David Oistrakh. YouTube video by Michel8665

Happy 110th Yehudi Menuhin. Here he is, with my other favourite violinist, David Oistrakh. If I could have only one piece of music for the rest of my life, this would be it.

Ordinary bike, but looking very determined and rather puzzled by honking motorists.

Bit of a shock to be on a dual carriageway and spotting a cyclist cycling the wrong way up the carriageway.

The Documentary - The Last Dance Floor in Chernobyl - BBC Sounds A young couple fall in love against the backdrop of disaster

Touching dooumentary about Chernobyl on BBC Sounds. I remember it well. First year at uni, and I received advance notice of what had happened. Have never been sure if it was a premonition or if a friend had access to some very secret sources... www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Digital art helps bring Britain's 'Pompeii' at Whittlesey to life The installation uses AI to tell the story of a Bronze Age settlement destroyed by a fire.

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing this at my local library this morning.

ABBA - I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do
ABBA - I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do YouTube video by AbbaVEVO

Colour printer, which I've got a brisk walk to, has decided that I don't have anything queued. Reader looking at me a little strangely as I tell the printer that I do, I do, I do, then realise that I sound as though I'm about to break out into an ABBA number.

As my camera was turned on at the time the rest of the people in the meeting looked suitably puzzled. They managed to restrain themselves from shouting 'It's behind you!"
