Odd fact for the day - a jewel encrusted copy of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam was lost when the Titanic sank. Why was it on board with its (presumably also unfortunate) courier? To avoid customs duties.

The library tower looking rather beautiful against that stunning blue sky.
Crumbs! Not what you expect to find in Bridgend!

Ironically just after posting this was editing a blog post which mentioned a diehard of physical scores turning to their iPad :-(
Today's ear worm. Have no idea why and it's driving me nuts. youtu.be/ZH63qoFdGzY?...
I think there are practical issues - not everyone has tablets / readers big enough, and for some instruments their use is more problematic than others. Some people find them harder to view too, and music can present really oddly in digital formats. Like you I also worry about retention.
Heard from a music publisher today who is discontinuing paper sheet music publications. The times they are a-changing. :-(
Don't know quite how but I've never watched it till now. Knew the 70 up show was going to be on soon, so thought I'd finally watch and am completely hooked. Just starting 21 up
Watching 7 Up. It was filmed a year or two before I was born. So much is familiar, but it feels like a different world. Love little Neil who announces that if he can't be an astronaut he'd like to be a coach driver.
I did a few years ago and it was an absolute delight. Such charismatic little birds
I love Skomer, and it's so good to see the little birds on the increase
Same! Never grows stale
Happy 110th Yehudi Menuhin. Here he is, with my other favourite violinist, David Oistrakh. If I could have only one piece of music for the rest of my life, this would be it.

Ordinary bike, but looking very determined and rather puzzled by honking motorists.
Off to Fenice? Oh, smashing. Have a good time
Bit of a shock to be on a dual carriageway and spotting a cyclist cycling the wrong way up the carriageway.
Touching dooumentary about Chernobyl on BBC Sounds. I remember it well. First year at uni, and I received advance notice of what had happened. Have never been sure if it was a premonition or if a friend had access to some very secret sources... www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...
Crumbs, that is a bit of a Cyrano de Bergerac
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing this at my local library this morning.

Aw, bless him. So sorry to hear this, have been thinking of you and him. Much love to you, David, and Chance xx
Oh yes!!!! So pleased for you. Was so hoping something good would come along soon
This is fun
So sorry to hear this. Poor Errol he's had such a lot to battle with. Thinking of you all xx
Didn't expect to find an envelope from the House of Commons through my letter box when I got home tonight #Unexpected
Colour printer, which I've got a brisk walk to, has decided that I don't have anything queued. Reader looking at me a little strangely as I tell the printer that I do, I do, I do, then realise that I sound as though I'm about to break out into an ABBA number.

As my camera was turned on at the time the rest of the people in the meeting looked suitably puzzled. They managed to restrain themselves from shouting 'It's behind you!"
