Witnesses, note the water. Seattle World Con was a well-hydrated con 💧

I'm only just seeing this because I'm never online, but: 💃❤️💃
kinda wild how many folks get this overwhelming feeling that they are not exceptional when everyone so obviously is. being incredible is what humans are BUILT for we come out of the box BENDING WORLDS. you are a wonder, the feeling that you are not is dead weight from deflated dreams of someone else
That is both the most and least dog-like dog I think I've ever seen.
don't kill the part of you that is cringe. kill the part that cringes.
What I find heartbreaking about AI art is that it has spread a deeper lie than just appropriation of others' work.
It has the most toxic lie to art I can think of embedded in it:
Art is the final product.
Attachment to outcome is a subtle death.
I've never had as much fun thrifting as when I went hunting for all black clothes... Let my void phase begin!

Bro excitement over “AI” art strikes me as another example of the notion that an “idea” is worth more than execution, as in “I’ll give you my idea, you write it, and we’ll split the proceeds 50/50.”
Ideas are cheap. The execution of ideas is the part that takes skill, & skill that makes great art.
Hi hi hi
Hotel Provincial is pretty nice. Not exactly a BnB, but attached to a nice breakfast place, so there's that!

The perfectionist needs a perfect death, and so lives on...
Real talk.
We need 300 new subscribers (including renewals) to keep publishing issues at our current size. If we don't get hit that number we will need to scale back the magazine size.
Help us keep our size (or increase it!) over the next two weeks!

Rewatching Highlander, I am kind of delighted by how unhinged The Kurgan is. More mad immortals, plz
Suddenly the universe feels both more chaotic and more orderly.
Is it weird that being on this Twitter clone (when I was never much of a tweeter) makes me feel like a real writer?
There is now less than a month to go until our Sept 22nd deadline for submissions to Reckoning 8! The theme, in a word, is resistance. We pay 10c/word for prose, $50/page for poetry and art. Guidelines: reckoning.press/reckoning-8-...
Y'all so many folks are quoting/replying w/ some variation of "Wow, I feel this a lot and I've felt shame/failure at struggling to create."
And I would say, look at all of us: you aren't alone. Art is a support system for life, not the other way around. Life happens and it's OK if art has to pause.
Which also explains the origin of the skeletons!
Must be a very long trench coat..

“It puts the submission in the queue, or else it gets the R again”
Libra: Your precarious grip on reality might hold for another week. Maybe.
I know my writing is better than anything that a predicative text machine can spit out, but the machine doesn't need to be better than me.
It just needs to convince someone at the top of the chain that they can sell its work just as easily as they can sell mine.
My advice--don't worry too much about being "original." Worry about whether the thing you're doing is interesting and fun to you. There will always be someone to say your work isn't sufficiently new. They are obviously not your audience. 5/5
