the needle gradually loosens internally and in some routers that can happen in a matter of days, and only unscrewing and rescrewing the whole thing fixes it. sounds stupid but it's true

the snes live-a-live fan translation does this at one point in a very incremental way and it honestly goes hard

i wouldnt call champions a huge disaster that will ruin pokemon or anything, it'll get better with time, but its poor launch is not a good look and did a good job of reminding me of this series' notorious habit of undervaluing its own projects

the fact that Malamar and Pyroar aren't in the game right away is very disappointing, because I was deathly curious what unhinged abilities they were handed to attempt to make up for their incredibly unimpressive stat spreads
well pokemon champions is clearly a rough overmonetized rushjob but at least now we know unseen fist was mercifully nerfed into the ground
I'd suggest "Drake Wright" as a more accurate equivalent that keeps the dragon motif intact...
but they only really use that dragon motif in any significant fashion...exactly once, iirc (with the Tigre stuff, ie tiger vs dragon) so I guess it ultimately doesn't matter. Phoenix does sound cooler

yknow i probably shouldve realized i was plural when i made a narrative about puppeteer parasite aliens and really enjoyed delving into the host and parasite carrying on conversations within the realms of the mind
if theres any board that should ever return from 8 specifically though it should absolutely be tycoon town, the best gimmick board to ever do it shy of pagoda peak
i think itd be fair to do a 50/50 split between standard star hunts and gimmick boards
imo a big issue with 6-8 (and DS) is that while variety is nice, the basic star hunt IS the most solid gameplay loop and having only 1 or 2 boards being that makes the game feel cramped

i recommend trying out re:coded since it's a game where you CAN link your commands into your combos
the game is unquestionably very flawed in other areas but i think it at least provides a good example of how the command deck can be very fun
though fwiw I'm a filthy re:coded stan, and i wont deny that game's loaded with issues itself
i do agree BBS is generally overhated, but at the same time each time i play it, while i do personally enjoy it, i get a healthy dozen reminders why everyone tends to stack surge commands LOL
though considering how much of kh2's meta revolves around reflect spam, maybe it's not that unusual
