Just realised I could remap my Thinkpad's pick up/decline call keys (that I've never once used) to media keys. A pen, pair of scissors and a sticky note later and now I can control my media with ease. i love little hacks like this 😎

every time I hear about Asahi is another time I consider buying a macbook purely to put Linux on it.

I won't anytime soon, since it's not there yet. But man is it tempting (the Windows/Linux laptop market have nothing on the premium hardware experience of MacBooks and that saddens me).

Android and iPhone users can now share files, starting with the Pixel 10 family. Today, we’re introducing a way for Quick Share to work with AirDrop.

blog.google/products/and...

yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

FINALLY - now I just need it in my Linux desktop and all my problems will be solved

(Though I don't want to have to buy a Pixel 10 so I guess I'm waiting for a while)

Almost forgot but the talk was supposed to be delivered by @florianjacob.dsn.kastel.kit.edu - but he couldn't make it due to sickness (hope you're feeling better!). Hope to see you at next year's conference πŸ‘‹

Eventually Consistent Access Control: Practical Insights on Matrix from Decentralized Systems Theory

One of the highlights for me was the talk about decentralised theory from Prof Hartenstein.

I never realised that you could think of events in terms of "monotonic" and "non-monotonic", definitely worth a watch if you're into this stuff!

it's fun to build things fast (I didn't take any time off work so it was more a 2-day jam than a 4-day one for us). im happy with what we achieved for our first jam. wish I could've added some polish (like an actual ending screen instead of crashing!), but hey thats game jams for you!

I really dislike when new books only release in massive hardbacks... I like my little and convient paperbacks :'(

Looks like I'll have to get the ebook for this next one...

Looks very cool! Reminds me of my dissertation project following a similar (but much more barebones) idea with @matrix.org - I love extensible protocols
