Happy to see Unity adding useful 2d improvements! π

I enjoyed it alot right up to when Batman and Riddler have a Skype video chat and Batman's face looked so goofy on the phone screen. After that, I couldn't take it as seriously as it wanted be. π€£

Scope creep has had a knock-on impact.
Oh no, I have reinstalled Balatro.
Still one of the best pvp games ever made! Make UFHO3; the fans are eager for it!
Fun blog, but false advertising; was hoping it was going to be about Sunshine's splatoon-like water+goop system!
Really hate that it's to be torn down for yet another boring grey brutalist hotel building. Is this available as an art print?
Yet another fun evening continuing my quest of porting all my random Unity tools, scripts & systems i've collected over the last 15ish years over to Godot. π
Godot supporting C# makes this a much easier process. π
It is accessible; both Roblox and Minecraft are thriving at significantly lower entry costs than console gaming.
We are probably within 10 years of there being a Smash Bros movie. π«¨π«¨π«¨
George was decades ahead of his time.
Or some kind of status tagging & database system with lookup; it's not hard (and is a hard requirement when it comes to outsourcing). π
Where did this idea that placeholder art must look like shit come from. The point of placeholder art is to accomplish its goal (layout, lighting, playtest, etc) with the minimal effort possible. No part of that is βalso needs to look terribleβ (sometimes that would even breaks its goal).
Duel Of Fates? Pod-racing??
How so?
Maybe my Hottest Take is that Phantom Menace is easily in the top 3 Star Wars movies.
It should be a legal requirement for a company to release a public list of affected employees (with employed role & contact info) when they make a large-scale layoff.

Placeholder assets in a game should look obnoxiously temporary, so obvious that no one would mistake it for the final asset. In past games we've used the doge dog (rip) as an icon, hot pink versions of characters, our CEO's head, etc.
If you use a temp asset that seems passable, it may stay there.
I'd also encourage them NOT to do a game jam as their starting point. It's probably the worst environment to learn in if you are completely fresh.
I'd also suggest they become a tech artist instead and learn blender/houdini and some programming for tools & game code.
Tech Artists are the golden geese of every studio. Decent ones are significantly in demand by everyone.
I'd point them to one of those 'make a basic game in 10 hours' tutorial videos. If they don't have the patience for that then should probably try another industry. π
"As we have finished the session 59 minutes early, you can all have that time back as a gift."
I'm sure that number can be traced back through the NFT, blockchain, VR hype-pipelines too. π
Have you used it yet? Curious to know your thoughts!
Godot has a bunch of neat robot assets made by the community! Love that Godot Foundation embraces them too :)
I have some qualms with it (baked in lighting, limited limb options, proportions are odd, head is too big, etc) but it's workable when learning!
It's in the Godot documentation as a downloadable sprite set!
