The Christmas tree gave way to a perfect fire on a beautiful spring evening. Carpe diem.

Happy Christmas tree burning day to all who celebrate.
On Holy Thursday, pictures of the West Bank from the same lookout at the Hebrew University, then the Church of the Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the Mount of Olives (taken from the Old City).
All a figurative stone’s throw from each other.
Nearly 10 years ago I visited Israel for the first time. It opened my eyes & ignited a deeper interest in the places, people & politics of the Middle East.
On Holy Thursday, pictures of the Old City from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem & two of the site of the Last Supper.
From the Air Canada tragedy to the IOC announcement the journalists who either opine or talk to “experts” seem to be shitting the bed with their takes and their own lack of real experience.
The IOC restores respect, safety & fairness to women & girls in their sports with the announcement today.
They follow several world governing bodies of sports that implemented these rules years ago.
Hard to imagine so many MSM outlets can’t run headlines to this effect.
What’s their problem anyway?! 😉
I actually looked at a who’s blocked me list. It’s hilarious. No idea who the people are.
As well, I think mute is the real play.
Bluesky is a week behind the discourse on Twitter/x if it deigns discourse at all.
I root for athletes and stories and not necessarily a flag. (Brignone! Shiffrin! Sarault!).
But if your eyes didn’t moisten with the Goudreau jersey and kids, or you’re not happy for Hellebuyck or Matthews, then you’re not a fan. 2/2
In the moment, watching the gold medal hockey game today, your heart jumps with every turn of play.
We rooted for our team and I’m gutted for the guys who lost yet played harder than we can fathom. 1/2
Félicitations, Mont Farlagne. Love that place.
Bluebird day in the Green Mountains at Jay Peak.
I’m not here to make friends. We drive through Maine to shave 400kms and 3 hrs off a round-trip to visit our daughter. We’ve long come to New England for vacation and our kids’ sports. I’m not going to stop.
Nothing like a crisp night air and a groomer’s light atop atop a mountain.
We have two ski days in Vermont to go, with a QC-ME crossing on Sunday to come. With 340 inches of snow to date I’m not sure we’ll see any ice at all. 3/3
Love New England, especially rural Maine, the harbours, sea ports, Boston and the ski resorts. The country stores, gas stations, diners and shops all have friendly owners & staff who greet you and see you off warmly. 2/3
Since Labour Day weekend we’ve entered the U.S. 10 times: 5 from NB, 4 from QC, 1 from overseas. Today we crossed from NB (Calais/St. Stephen!), & QC and the latter was proper chat & humour with our daughter giving the USCBP agent restaurant recos in nearby Sherbrooke. 1/3
Lol’ing at all the hot takes on the women’s Olympic downhill.
Even a CBCer tweeting up a storm from Italy obviously doesn’t watch ski racing.
That time we met Canada’s grande dame Olympic. Nancy Greene Raine.
Curious to know the child and youth advocate’s opinion on other social media platforms (i.e. Instagram). Their negative effect on young people and teens, especially young girls, is well documented. Is @susanholtnb.bsky.social and GNB continuing to use it for messaging?
While @ctvnewsatlantic.bsky.social posted on X that the NB government won’t be posting on X anymore, I’m curious to see CTV Atlantic hasn’t posted here yet.
Miracle: The Boys of ‘80 on Netflix was great viewing this Friday night.
America in a corner.
East and West at a crossroads.
Hockey, and the Olympics, in a simpler time.
Looking forward to Mark Carney deplaning in Ottawa to the strains of Rush’s “New World Man”.
Wherein a blind trust meets a Prince’s trust lol.
Boxing Day in London,UK.
Christmasy in London everywhere we turn.
The optician who’s opened a shop on Pizza Corner in Halifax must see something many others don’t.
Shades of Christmas.
