i think part of the problem is that people are used to diminishing interactions on ig/whatever. people are mostly there to post, to show and/or view, not to chat everyone up. so people move over to these small sites and don’t stick around bc performing isn’t enough, you’ve also gotta interact

i love freakscene and neocities & i want to more actively engage w people on both… i need the indie/slow/personal web movement to become strong enough to rival meta. some ig reels indie cool girl needs to start insinuating that if u don’t blog you‘re an indie poser or something stupid
