I think the legal definition of property tax is pretty broad, why the fixing our streets gas tax goes to the voters every 4 years and why we are getting a transportation utility *Fee*. I might be mistaken there.
Fans of dead malls will come en masse to make YouTube videos about it.
Under m5 and m50, it’s a lot harder, but still possible.
Someone from Save Lloyd saying people will visit Portland from across the country to see Lloyd Center. No!
If you bike as a group I like locking my bike to someone else’s bike to make it redundant. I agree id usually just take transit, but getting my exercise in has been nice
Haters…
He brings up the developer credentials in every email. We get it dude your dad is blue on Wikipedia.
Im glad we wasted a bunch of fucking money on something that didn’t work. So now we can’t spend it on something that works
I wonder why I’m getting replies like this on my post about Dan Ryan lol
This should be tough but I always recognize (landmark) when I see it
also, everyone who said No Kings etc was an onboarding for further left activism was correct and yesterday confirmed it. I have more solidarity with someone who went to NK and engaged with tables than whatever people are doing on internet
these are the conversations socialists could be having if liberals could keep the lights on!

Few local electeds could actually be replaced by AI and Sharon Meieran is one of them
So they can ask the federal government for a ton of money to rebuild the street with. The transit is an afterthought. This is also happening on 82nd and tv highway
Lori Chavez-DeRemer resigned today, a week after this:
In the plainest English I can make: if you want high speed rail, that requires putting one foot in front of the other repeatedly until you get there.
That first step is either stop funding freeway expansions, start funding Amtrak, or both. Not whatever press conference the mayor goes to.
Was just talking about this this morning.
Cascadia HSR will be 50 years away for the next 100 years.
The next freeway expansion will be currently happening for the next 100 years.
Perhaps the part where repaving a street is a 30-year process which is perpetually in a state of emergency repairs before the federal funding from the token transit project can finally be parlayed in, is a problem and an obstacle to Good Outcomes.
lmao this sucks but at least construction takes so long in this country that it can all be cancelled before money's wasted on more lanes in cities
Like, how many people hate the CEI hub? It’s growing explicitly b/c of increased flight demand.
Our movements have grown really shy of ever suggesting the reader could be complicit in (environmental) evil. I get that we want to grow but we also have to care about outcomes.
In the 2010s we entertained the idea of flight shaming, I always knew it was meant to be targeted at the outlier (6+ flights a year) but everyone imagined a strawman that wanted to prevent us from visiting our grandmas or w/e.
The frequent fliers have achieved total victory, the topic is taboo now.
I didn’t get the invite immediately either. Check your spam folders!
Such a shame. Would be a great opportunity for a statewide childcare program that didn’t just backdoor MultCo’s program.
Perhaps locating your business in the suburbs is not the unlimited prosperity generator we think it is.
There is no link, I got emailed it due to being on some email list. Check your inbox!
Most private car share services have been going out of business. I know one here did. It’s one of those things that can work if actual policy on reducing VMT happened but it never does in most cities.
America’s largest bank is expanding its data center in Orangeburg, NY, near the New Jersey border.
In exchange for $77 million in tax breaks from the state and county, the bank promises to create exactly one permanent job.
