If I die or go missing in the next few weeks please know that it was a combination of perimenopause, Maycember, and the political hellscape that did me in.

RFK Jr talking about the need for doctors to know how to treat measles for those who are unvaccinated.
“Only very sick kids should die from measles.”
No. They shouldn’t. That was the point of the vaccine. We eradicated the virus so children didn’t die.
Sick & disabled kids are not expendable!
When I was undergrad, I took a course on international human rights law. It was a great course. The professor was fantastic. I remember feeling ridiculous when I asked her after class one day about something that had been on my mind, although it felt like a needless hypothetical.

1/ Kennedy decided to eliminate the advisory committee on newborn screening. Most people don’t even know what NB screening is or how much impact it has on children and their families.
what booker is doing right now is an example of what i mean when i say things like “we need more ambition right now.” there is room in american politics right now for people with ambition to take big stands and reap the rewards. he’s doing it!
Support your local bookstore.
My staff and I are closely tracking the potential measles exposure in San Antonio that originated with a visitor from West Texas.
If you visited any of the locations listed below, please watch out for symptoms (including fever or unexplained rash) and contact a doctor right away if they occur.
Knowledge is power…
"When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just, you have a moral obligation to do something about it." - John Lewis.
It's not enough to simply recognize something is wrong; we have a moral duty to act.
Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.
This weekend’s attempt at gardening: cleaning out this mess of a raised bed. The previous homeowners planted all of this with mint. Mint. 😭😭😭
Thank you!!
Huge protest outside the USAID building today against Trump and Musk's illegal shutdown.
So anyways, stuck around if you want to see my attempts at a largely container garden this year. I don’t have the bandwidth to till up the space for an in-ground situation so containers it is. Would love to hear tips on container gardening in Zone 7b. /fin
But still…I like growing my vegetables. Our grocery prices are going to skyrocket, and this is something I can do to counter that. But I also feel like I’m capitulating.
But honestly, part of me feels like this is what the new administration wants me to do. They want me at home, raising my own food, out of the workplace, trad-wifing it up in the suburbs.
This year I’m making a serious effort to maximize my garden. I have the yard space. What I lack is time. But I’m making it.
I’m Southern and like many Southerners I grew up with a large garden. My family grew most of our vegetables. It wasn’t fancy or to prove a point; it’s just what people did. As an adult I have gardened on and off as my schedule allows. More off than on and usually without great success. 🧵
Trump is a One-Dimensional Negotiator
I'm going to get a little wonky and write about Donald Trump and negotiations. For those who don't know, I'm an adjunct professor at Indiana University - Robert H. McKinney School of Law and I teach negotiations. Okay, here goes.
Speechless. Currently in the hospital as the Pediatric Infectious Disease Attending & access to vital info is limited. My duty to each child that I take care of is to have to most up to date information - in order to provide the best possible care. This is unacceptable

If there are both no jokes and no exclamation points, we are fighting.
I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.
“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.
Looks like we weren’t the only ones who’d rather get a root canal than watch Trump lie about protecting the Constitution.
His second inauguration tanked at just 24.59M viewers—less than Biden’s 33.76M in 2021 and even his own 30.64M in 2017.
Team Trump will lie about this, so spread the word!
