thank you. I tried playing it for the first time like 5 years ago and I was gobsmacked at how bad the writing felt. Bounced off it very quickly.

It made me wonder if I just saw FF7 or FF9 with rose-tinted glasses or something (played them a bit later and... that was not the case)

trying to just get past the beginning so the gameplay can open up and i can maybe find something to enjoy in it but fuck the storytelling is so infantile and clunky, the exploration space is nonsense, it’s not enjoyable in almost any way except the incredible music
