Still, Rankins said the pope’s willingness to speak into American politics should cause an inflection point for American Catholics.
“They have to ask themselves if they’re followers of Christ or followers of Trump,” he said.
“Like it or not, liberal or not liberal, that’s what Christ would say. Christ wouldn’t say ‘Donald Trump, you’re doing a bad thing.’ He’d say, ‘Leaders who lead with love are more effective.’ Leo has to be Jesus, at the end of the day.”
Black Moses Rankins, the executive director of Call To Action, a progressive Catholic organizing group, told Sojourners he sometimes wishes the pope could more aggressively combat the president.
[Ultimately] Leo has to follow in a biblical tradition, Rankins said.

"Let us always seek peace and put an end to wars. I am not afraid of the Trump administration. I speak about the Gospel, I am not a politician. I do not think the message of the Gospel should be abused in the way some people are doing."--Pope Leo

Not sure if you “fit” a Catholic conference? You might be exactly who we’re looking for.
CTA’s 50th Anniversary Conference is seeking new voices, younger leaders, and emerging organizers to lead sessions on faith, justice, and the future of the Church.

...with left-leaning Catholic group Call to Action, told Straight Arrow News Thursday. “We saw Bishop Barron from Minnesota at the White House for Holy Week. They’re using the Catholic church as an institution to appeal to their base.”
The Trump administration has denied the assertions in the article, but it hasn’t satisfied some Catholics in America.
“It’s obvious the administration is trying to use the Catholic Church to promote its agenda,” Jason Miller, communications manager...
Who are the traditionalists?!
So true!

Women and LGBTQ folks have been excommunicated by the institutional church for merely advocating for full inclusion, but no one says a word about this.
It's pretty shocking and frankly downright blasphemous to see Bishop Barron celebrating Christian Nationalism in the White House during Holy Week. Even worse, Bishop Barron went on three different podcasts this week and said that Pope Leo's statements about "just war" were not referring to Iran.
On this International Transgender Day of Visibility, we commit to continuing to advocate for full inclusion of all of our LGBTQ+ siblings in the institutional Catholic Church.
