There are so many raves about Breaking the Waves, it is so crazy that it hasn't been produced in chicago or nyc yet!
One of opera's major problems is not having recordings available for many major new operas.
I saw The Listeners twice, and the brilliance of the libretto and the music only struck me on the second viewing. There was too much going on with the plot and visuals to fully take it in the first time.
I love the Proving Up recording, but all of the performances in Chicago sold out!!
