The patch is now playable from start to finish, and I've been able to complete a full playthrough!
Showing our progress without spoiling has been difficult, but for now, we will continue polishing the script and fixing bugs while we playtest.

Today, I had to retranslate from scratch a whole exchange between Kojiroh and Akane. In the original, Kojiroh mocks Akane for being a vegetarian and ends up parodying a nursery rhyme to something akin to "tapeworms and foot fungus, they're all alive, they're our friends!"
Ecco the Dolphin. I finally finished it earlier this year after letting it sleep for literaly decades. It really made me feel uncomfortable at the time. Too claustrophobic, too unsettling, too creepy.

In one word: you'll have to be patient a little while more, because I don't want to release a patch half-assed and full of inconsistencies, especially for a game that great. Eve really deserves it, and as a player, you do to :)
Fixing an existing script is probably the most boring aspect of fan translating (on par with translating H-scenes). Especially when it's as butchered as "Eve". I'm a bit burnt out atm so I'm working on it on small sessions, and it probably will take a few months more to reach completion.
- Second, all bugs are now fixed, including a pretty nasty one that made the game crash when loading for certain slots.
- Finally, the bad news: revision is taking ages. I still have about 55% of Kojiroh's route and about 30% of Marina's route to process.
Time to share a bit of news about Eve: Burst Error...
- First, all text is now in English. That includes the previously untranslated H-scenes along with postgame extras. I chose to stick to the titles of the official OSTs as there were a few confusing differences between versions.
I just created an OpenGL hardware renderer for STAR keitai emulator. No longer will heavy 3D games run badly. Minna no Golf Mobile 3 goes from like 4 FPS to a locked 30 FPS. All with proper 3D character rendering and texture loading. Plus internal resolution scaling.

Gaming Alexandria is our load-bearing pillar for access to Japanese scans and hubz is the hardest-working guy I know in game preservation, so I'd really appreciate it if we didn't destroy him with a dogpile over his vibe coding project please. Show some empathy and grace if you disagree with it.
Impressive technical achievement... This has been the white whale of the Mega Drive since ages. I hope the project finds a translator soon.
Afterwards, I was basically left with text files, png images, and the tools to inject them back in the game without much hassle. I had a lot of fun working on this one, especially for the graphic edits (the fontwork in particular, it was quite a challenge to fit everything in while staying readable)
Then he added support to the English character charset to a game that was totally devoid of it, which is again something akin to black magic to me.
Kudos to Kirinn too, who managed to decode the two graphics data formats (CG and sprites) in a really fast time.
Of all PC-98 translation projects I've worked on, this one was probably the more difficult technically. Valley Bell managed to decompress, decrypt and unprotect the executable with not much more than ASM knowledge and the MAME debugger output.
Awesome commercial! Fun fact, PSIV was the game that motivated me to learn English beyond the school stuff. I did my first playthrough at the age of 12 or 13, and there were basically no console games localized in French. Still love this game to death nearly 30 years later, best RPG I ever played!
Still working on "Eve". Most of the H-scenes are now in English. An open beta will be sent to a few testers by the end of the week to track the bugs and errors in the Kojiroh route, while I finish tweaking the Marina one. I'd say around 60 to 70% of the text is now in an acceptable state.
