You got this! No matter how they turn out I always aim to learn something along the way to make the next one a bit better.

I still fear wasting paint so I never squeeze enough out on my palette. But I've been making strides lately to really put out TONS more than I need to. (Screaming internally)

Muted backgrounds certainly have their place! I would be kicking myself if I didn't push the backgrounds in these however, since they were personal animals with associated colors!

Love to see how you tackle going from muted to vibrant, it was a spooky step to take when I started!

Oh these are so cool!

Thanks! We always associated bright pink with Ellie, based off Flamingos, so that was absolutely folded into the decision, the blue just felt like a nice counterbalance.

I tend to push for vibrancy in the backgrounds to keep it playful and punchy.

Ellie! Most tenacious little Doxie ever to grace our presence. She's been gone for nearly a year now but never forgotten.

Miss ya smells. Painted this in her memory last year.

The face of someone in trouble, but too adorable to BE in trouble.

Nope! I've never touched sculpting for decades at this point, absolutely something I'd love to try when my studio space gets expanded!

It has come to my attention that I've been using 'offhand' incorrectly for my entire adult life...oops. 'A passing comment' about the scene is more accurate!

Officer Bill Boyle from Silence of the Lambs strung up outside Hannibal Lecter's cage. Backlit with red white and blue ribbons cascading down on either side.

My wife made an offhand comment about how this scene is like a painting as we're watching Silence of the Lambs.

Either way! Small perks of being married to someone who loves painting. Still sitting on her work desk a few years later.
