Nalu is the god of whimsy. He was once an angel in heaven. Anything he could imagine would come to life. But he was seen as childish and quirky by the other angels. He would imagine up the silliest of things. Books that grew on trees, animals that make music instead of regular calls, and tiny creatures with wings. There was no malice in his actions, but his fellow angels mocked and looked down upon him. They never took him seriously. For who would ever listen to someone who is so childish? So he chose to leave heaven and create a world of his own. A world of magic and whimsy with anomalous circumstances. The people say that when something inexplicable happens, it’s Nalu playing. He became his own god. However, what happens when you mix imagination with the unknown? You get fear. Sometimes Nalu’s imagination runs away with him, and he can mistakenly cause trouble. Since anything can come to life with Nalu’s imagination, that means he can also imagine monsters to life. But what Nalu wanted most was someone to play with. Age matters very little to him when it comes to whimsy and imagination. People who could see the magic in everything and believe in the spirit of whimsy. That’s why there are offering altars for him. Offerings like candy on Halloween, a present from Christmas, or simply singing a song for the child-like god.
Meet the deity of Brookhaven. My sister drew this for me on my birthday. I asked for it, of course. She said it was OK to put it here. She used a Kirby-like style for my little god. However, I want to be clear: he is not a Kirby character.
