People disapprove of Trump so strongly NBC had to change the spelling of the word

this sounds kinda like a "who cares" achievement but its a very exciting milestone for rich guys who are extremely invested in a future where robots they control are slavedrivers and prison guards for the rest of the human population
"If only Habermas hadn't been rude to Alex Karp" is the new "If only Obama hadn't mocked Trump at the White House Correspondents' Dinner"
Opening text of a thread by Palantir from X Because we get asked a lot. The Technological Republic, in brief. 1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation. 2. We must rebel against the tyranny of the apps. Is the iPhone our greatest creative if not crowning achievement as a civilization? The object has changed our lives, but it may also now be limiting and constraining our sense of the possible. 3. Free email is not enough. The decadence of a culture or civilization, and indeed its ruling class, will be forgiven only if that culture is capable of delivering economic growth and security for the public. 4. The limits of soft power, of soaring rhetoric alone, have been exposed. The ability of free and democratic societies to prevail requires something more than moral appeal. It requires hard power, and hard power in this century will be built on software.
Palantir put out a 22-point summary of their CEO's book The Technological Republic. It's pitched as a defence of the West, but if you read it through the VDA framework, verification, deliberation, accountability, what it's actually doing looks rather different.

Suffice it to say that the cultural achievements Palantir wants to define, falsely, as belonging solely to "the West"âart, science, philosophy, liberal individualismâare all things that the widespread application of Palantir's authoritarian surveillance technology will tend to diminish and destroy
For anyone who's waking up to this Palantir statement, I wrote a guide to the company and the fatuous chauvinism of its "defend the West" cosplay ideology a few weeks ago
âcrapâ became âstuff,â as the Times is a family paper.
âbuttâ will become âass,â if weâre lucky!
I had to make some changes to my AI piece before the Times would print it (âweâre a family paperâ). A German newspaper wants to rerun it, so Iâd like to translate it back before they translate it into German:
'She also documented how few women were in federally sponsored clinical trials for AIDS drugs...
That was significant, she told The San Francisco Chronicle, because âthe clinical trials are the only way you can get treatment.â' Long helped save so many lives.

â¤ď¸ just trying to keep on the pope's good side
So the whole thing comes down to the pope denying that Jesus was pro-war? Is this why I keep seeing reports that Leo and Trump are "feuding"? Yes, but that framing, which is all over the media, is totally wrong. Leo and Trump aren't "feuding," and Trump did not "hit back," "strike back," or "return fire" against the pope. Trump has repeatedly launched unprovoked military actions that he and his lieutenants have attempted to cloak in the language of Christian righteousness. The pope has said that Christian righteousness is incompatible with unprovoked war. Trump has publicly mocked, derided, and attacked the pope; the pope hasn't attacked Trump at all. A feud requires the participation of two people. If you say, "We should respect the sovereignty of each individual, for we are all children of God," and I say, "Fuck you, you dirty hippie," what we have is not a feud. What we have is a principled person trying to have a conversation with an asshole.
If you have the time and capacity, this is a great place to put your energy into for the next few days. The polling shows that this is going to be a very close vote, and the political implications are obviously huge.
On multiple occasions in the past year, members of his security detail had difficulty waking Patel because he was seemingly intoxicated, according to information supplied to Justice Department and White House officials. A request for "breaching equipment" ânormally used by SWAT and hostage-rescue teams to quickly gain entry into buildingsâwas made last year because Patel had been unreachable behind locked doors, according to multiple people familiar with the request.
Every story about Kash Patel is like "he frequently arrives at work dressed as a Teletubby, likes to huff aerated phenobarbital through an inhaler, and once interrupted a hostage negotiation to ask his aides what 'FBI' stands for. But West Wing insiders now worry he might someday go too far"

Living in the perceptual world of the wealthy and the material world of a regular person is stressful. It is *meant* to make you feel like youâre falling behind even if youâre not. Thatâs how demand is induced. This is just one element but I think economists miss it (among other things).
