I've been saying for a while that "AI is like spreadsheets, not like the web" in that it can be a handy tool for users to automate some of their work rather than a good way to build software for other people.
Most of these shoes are still available!
The AI bubbles longest gift will be showing how easily some people gave up any morals AND technological sense
Just to be close to power and money
A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief. The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."
The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.
If you're autistic, you should learn how to play bass. It is a *wonderful* stim. Make your stims your neighbors' problem.

ahhhh thank you so much for writing it i love it so much and can't wait for more! ❤️💜❤️
it's worth sitting with the "Journal of Marketing" portion of this ... i love reading marketing research lol.
link from this real good video. i think of AI the same way I do Big Ag. both are fucking up my water, utilizing my state land and resources in such a way to poison me, and are labor nightmares mired in propaganda. and also they're just technologies applied in late capitalism
a scatter plot from the linked meta study of one study showing a negative correlation between AI literacy and "AI Receptivity" by country. ("AI Receptivity" is defined as how much they agreed with marketing messages such as “Products and services using artificial intelligence will profoundly change my daily life in the next 3-5 years,” “Products and services using artificial intelligence make my life easier,” “Products and services using artificial intelligence have more benefits than drawbacks,” and “I trust companies using artificial intelligence as much as I trust other companies.”)
BWAAAA HA HA HA HA lmfao wow in retrospect this is obvious but lol.
Research Paper: "Lower artificial intelligence literacy predicts greater AI receptivity." Journal of Marketing, 2025.
Feels like we’ve moved on past jokes about 4/20, is that because weed is kinda not a big deal anymore, or are we just too beat down as a society to make jokes about leaving out milk and cookies for Snoop Dogg?
🧵... EW!
like ... storycorps is cool and i do think a practice of conscious narrative sharing over a meal is a human thing going back to the beginning of humans ... but an ad for cheap pasta sauce to self-surveil with a hint of fame-chasing ... kinda ruins it? leave's a bad taste for sure.
in my head i've been calling this "surveillance enabled epestime-rot"
idk i'll try it again. i guess. i'm so desperate to talk to people about books i'm in three book clubs and unhappy with two of 'em LOL.
the book club was with strangers. maybe it was not a great idea to start with a book with trans themes ... idk it was fine mostly but for one white boomer lady who was very nihilistic about the world and would preface her comments with "my daughters trans boyfriend in school" lolsob
storygraph recently read screenshot with covers of four books: Honeysuckle by Bar Fridman-Tell Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki The Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan with Ann Druyan The Disordered Cosmos: A Journey Into Dark Matter, Spacetime, and Dreams Deferred by Chanda Prescod-Weinstein
books!
Honeysuckle: real good book club read! wanna talk about it haha.
LFUS: reread for book club. book club was weird. :-/
DHW: re-read. really a product of it's time eh?
Disordered Cosmos: a highlight for sure. wild to compare to Demon-Haunted World. will read Prescod-Weinstein's new book next!
A reminder that this company is basically the backbone of the entire state coercive apparatus, is in basically every police station, integrated into the US military and all intelligence agencies. And they feel emboldened enough to make these ideological statements. Imagine if this was Raytheon…
ahhhhh (dats me yellin)
