It was such a wonderful event with so many incredibly emotive things to mull over.
I loved that stories of mundane reality was fantasy with all the fun bits removed :)

The next book is DONE!
DONE I say!
Now to send it off to Agent Ed @teddyfromtheblock.bsky.social to see what he makes of this marvellous manuscript.
Great to hear you enjoyed it!
Read @cameronjohnston.bsky.social’s The First Mage on the Moon. Viciously on point for “everything has gone to shit so we should go to the moon.” Plus fun magical engineering and social commentary

Easy to do when you have a whole lot of books! Especially when it's in a very different subgenre.
I had a thing about the origins of First Mage On The Moon posted on @scalzi.com's blog yesterday (Thanks, John & Athena!)

I love to see it! I'm a big fan, as folk might have noticed.

First Mage on the Moon by @cameronjohnston.bsky.social is here!
Take rockets & a Space Race; a neverending war between great powers; and add magic & a heretical plan to reach the moon, forbidden home of the gods... This novel is generating some buzz, so come find out why!

Rumours that I pulled some strings to get NASA to delay the launch of Artemis II until the week before my book launch are...
No Comment :P
Paperback novel with a sketchy illustration of a golden space rocket against a deep blue background with girders and cranes. White schematics overlay the image. Title First Mage on the Moon and author name Cameron Johnston looks like stamps and stickers on top.
My extremely pretty paperback has arrived! First Mage on the Moon by @cameronjohnston.bsky.social and it sounds great - industrialised magic, heresy and space travel?
I'm in!
Woohoo! That was quick.

We had the great pleasure of having Cameron on the Four Beardsmen of The Bookpocalypse on the weekend.
We talk about a range of subjects from how you get NASA to help with marketing to some rather nasty golems

Ups and downs, but getting by!
I've just seen that :) Marvellous stuff!
A promotional panel for First Mage on the Moon by Cameron Johnston. The text says: Amazon Editors' Pick Best Science Fiction & Fantasy. Out now!
"The Fire Dragon has landed."
Wishing @cameronjohnston.bsky.social a very happy publication day.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :)
What a great cocktail you made to go with it!

NEW VIDEO ALERT! Today on Bar Cart Bookshelf we're talking about FIRST MAGE ON THE MOON by Cameron Johnston. This fantasy adventure does exactly what it says on the tin: puts a wizard on the moon. The moon in the SKY. So much fun, so clever, so bouncy. IN THE SKY. Our drink is the Fire Dragon Fizz!
Cheers! :) Hope you are doing well!
I'm getting soooo much scammy fake book club and dodgy PR offer spam today. A definitely uptick on publication day.
My favourite has been the woman's book club wanting to give me a spotlight talking about my Warhammer 40k story (undoubtedly for free, right? Right?)
I hope you have a blast with it!
Cheers! I hope you have a blast!
Woohoo!

You most certainly do!
