A very chilled out nice airport to fly from. A pity there aren't more direct flights there.

It also talks about precursor/neighboring flying boat airport at Foynes but doesn't mention its allegedly where Irish Coffee was invented en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_c...

Was passiert in Berlin? Nüscht! Im Gegenteil. Heute Morgen Fenster auf, ich schmecke die schlechte Luft.
We really need to bang on about this a LOT MORE! LOUDER! EVEN LOUDER! 💚💜
Japanese Golden Curry Mix
This stuff makes a satisfying dinner - made a quick curry with pumpkin, spuds and carrots.
Haribo Valentine's gummies
Who needs Valentine's day chocolates when you can can get Haribo instead
I think that's the catch with these tools for writing. It is fast and convenient and saves a lot of mental effort, but over an extended period I would worry about degraded thinking and quality. But there are some situations/use cases where it might be ok to just pump out mediocre stuff.
Plus recently I've been trying to write German every day, as its great way to get better as its so concrete and forces you to think in German. I was lazy the few years and used Google Translate as its so convenient and my German really atrophied as a result.
The writing is thinking v AI debate is pretty interesting. At work, we write design document partly to think through problems and solutions. I've seen a few docs recently that look AI generated. They superficially look ok but on closer reading are not very good. Make a sham of the whole process.
The abundant supply of potatoes certainly makes it feel like home. 😂
Various regional names for potatoes in Germany
It took a few hundred years for Germany to even agree on a common name for potato, so even more words combinations are possible
Took me a while to internalize ACAB, but the murder of Jean Charles de Menezes was when I got it. The murder of Alex Pretti is a similar playbook: an execution and then a torrent of lies about the victim. Even more horrific.
Ice bathing in fancy dress at the Orankesee
Perfect weather for the fancy dress ice bathing yesterday at our local lake. Most teams had pretty naff songs, but the Brandenburger Eisbären used this Neue Deutsche Welle banger. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIIG...

Green Pepper and Pistachio Risotto
One pot, pan, planet by Anna Jones is the best cookbook I've gotten in the last few years. Made several recipes now and they have all been straightforward and very tasty
Last night's Green Pepper and Pistachio Risotto was a banger.

Faeries are sneaky bastards
Enjoyed Fréwaka, a solid Irish folk horror movie. A good mix of plausible real world troubles combined with the darkside of Irish folklore.

I tried a sample of the chocolate version when I bought this one and it was sort of nice but a bit too much.

For more than 2 years, police in Berlin - encouraged by city and national politicians - have systematically used excessive violence in an attempt to beat the Palestine solidarity movement into silence.
I wrote about this phenomenon for the @lrb.co.uk

While the 1950s were dominated by male authors in science fiction, the most prominent female-authored novel from that era is often considered to be The Deathbird by Mildred Benson, although it was published under the male pseudonym "George Ordon" to gain wider readership. • The Deathbird (1957): is a groundbreaking novel that centers on themes of gender, alienation, and the human condition, set in an alien landscape. The work explores the complexities of a society where women are forced into subjugation and eventually rise to lead a rebellion against their oppressors. • Published under a male pseudonym, the novel allows the author to be recognized as a significant figure in the Golden Age of Science Fiction. Other notable works by female authors include: • The Long Tomorrow (1955): by Leigh Brackett • The Space-Born (1958): by Edna May O'Donnell • The Secret of the Earth: (1955) by Marion Zimmer Bradley
Google's AI hallucinating some books. Only The Long Tomorrow (1955): by Leigh Brackett is real.
Maybe they exist in another timeline.
