It’s a white supremacist narrative. That’s really it.

I am going to have a crashout. Jesus Christ how do things like this make it past review.

I was using it as an exclusionary example. Your hypothesis is that the skull is bovid, so you need to look at the morphological properties of a bovid and compare it to something else. Afrotheria are a useful comparison in this situation as you can verify each of the differences to narrow it down.

People who played mystery dungeon feeling really good about this 🤓

That would be really interesting to see because the ankle morphology is sometimes quite important to identifying where it belongs over all.
It’s how we know where whales belong in the order.

No, I was comparing hypothetical extremes, suggesting that it’s not something completely different and that the morphology fits closer to your question than a potential other species like the hyrax (it would have similar teeth but smaller, different ear bones and feet).

Given the canines it very likely IS an adult but I’m a botanist not a mammal expert 🤪 it does look like an bovid and not an afrotheir but full disclosure I haven’t counted the teeth

I would write a really friendly email asking how the skull was labelled or identified. In a lot of cases animals are sent from external collections pre-labelled and are sometimes missed or not verified.

In the Artiodactyls pigs, hippos and cetaceans (it gets really messy with these) notably have different dental plans but what really are interesting are the extinct species. Especially the Anthracotheriidae and Entelodontidae.

I went through all the recorded skulls of neotragus pygmaeus I could find in our local archive and all have the bovid dental plans without any canine teeth.

Moschidae are the only extant exception in the bovoidea superfamily. The loss seems to start at the Order level with exceptions.

@bernadettebanner.bsky.social I just saw the title of your new video and holy shit YES?!? I have been looking for almost 2 years for a good quality, real linen fabrics.
Every time I think I find one it ends up being either awful or not suitable for clothing. I can’t wait to watch this!! 😭

I cannot fathom the potentially insurmountable task with which Trump is faced.

Finding someone with lower moral standards than Pam Bondi.

$20+. Lmfao bye. I’ll actually just buy CDs and dvds again at this point. It’s not like anything they make is for me anymore anyway.

People’s tastes have changed a lot. There is an expectation of food being more processed; nuts are peeled and washed, things are more uniform and refined.
When I was a kid some peanut brittle would have skin on peanuts, nowadays it’s impossible to find without making them yourself.
I agree though

Originally I think they used Spanish or Virginia peanuts, both of which had bright red skins. These days they’re probably dyed to resemble what people were used to at one point! 😂
