It makes sense that Trump would only want to honor vets of WWI & WW2; he only cares about wars that the US conclusively won. He considers veterans of other wars (Korea, Vietnam, etc) to be "losers", and thus, unworthy of recognition.

At the same time, he erases veterans by changing Veteran's Day to Victory Day for World War I, a war from which there are (likely) no surviving US veterans (they'd be in their 120s at the least).
