Scene is WAITROSE CUSTOMER SERVICES DESK. Behind it is a staff member, whose name we will soon learn is BECKY. She is dealing with a customer, for now out of shot, while talking to her manager on the phone.

BECKY [on phone]:
Yeah, hiya...

2
BECKY:
Yes I have a customer here who wants to complain about the Easter eggs.

3
BECKY [putting hand over receiver while addressing the customer stood at the desk in front of her]:
Sorry what was your name again?

4
[Pull back to show the customer is a very tall, green-skinned, PAGAN GODDESS, festooned with flowers. Stood next to her is her son, a normal human teenager in a hoodie, who looks mortified by his mum.]

PAGAN GODDESS:
Eostre the Pagan Goddess of Fertility

5
BECKY
Sorry -
Your name is Easter…?

PAGAN GODDESS:
Eostre.

6

[Vicky pauses, trying to take this in].

VICKY:
Your name is Easter and you want to complain about the Easter eggs.

7
PAGAN GODDESS:
Sorry love, what’s your name?

BECKY:
Becky

PAGAN GODDESS:
Well, Vicky -

8
PAGAN GODDESS:
If it was you who’d shagged the solar god of the Equinox to give birth to an actual living god - my son Darren here -

TEENAGE BOY:
Muuum…

9
PAGAN GODDESS:
….only to have all your efforts totally forgotten by history, you’d have a complaint too!

10
PAGAN GODDESS:
Aisle four is full of products, with no hint of the true meaning of the festival!

11
BECKY:
You mean… Jesus…?

PAGAN GODDESS:
I mean shagging, Vicky.

12
PAGAN GODDESS:
Is it too much to see just a little bit of pre-Christian sex in Aisle 4?

TEENAGE BOY:
MUUUUM

[Ends]

Happy Trans Day of Visibility. I know trans people and I know fascists who are making life difficult for trans people. The trans people are pretty cool and I'm glad I know them. The fascists can go fall down a deep dark hole.

Is 'OK' Okay? "OK" and "okay" are both correct, but "OK" came first, and the story of where it came from is worth reading! - Quick and Dirty Tips.

On this day (March 23) the word "OK" first appeared in the Boston Morning Post in 1839, and author Allan Metcalf, who wrote a whole book about "OK," promoted today at "OK Day."

It all started as a funny misspelling: "oll korrekt" (think of it as 19th-century text speak).

A screenshot of PCalc running on iOS and displaying Pi.

Once again, Pi Day rolls around, and I forgot to actually do anything substantial to promote PCalc.

Even worse, I added Tau in the latest release, and the Pi people and the Tau people have been at war for decades. Don't ask…

But the current iOS version is 3.14.x and so Pi wins today!

Image of the prairies, tall grass under a grey blue sky with a rotting shed in the corner. The PF logo in brown with text:

bury my body in the tall prairie grass—
this ruined house
of rusted cans and porcelain shards,
boards and plaster.
What is true will remain.

Today is the 37th anniversary of Laura Palmer's death, the 28th anniversary of my first date with my wife, and the 4th anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I will never forget any of those anniversaries.

You, an individual, cannot "fix" the whole world. You can act at the scale of your life. You should act at the scale of your life.

It’s Storytime with Wil Wheaton You may recognize Wil Wheaton’s name from his acting work in television shows like The Big Bang Theory, Leverage, and Star Trek: The Next Generation, or 1985’s timeless classic, Stand B…

This week, I'm going to get way out of my comfort zone and promote the hell out of my podcast. I'm so proud of the work we are doing, and I want as many people as possible to know it exists.

So I'll begin here:

This morning I briefly smelled brownies baking in our house, even though none were. Later on, my son said he was planning to make brownies today. We've determined that I must be able to smell the future: preolfaction. Weird superpower but I'm into it.

We don’t automatically update all our books every time Apple releases a point update. There was not enough different in Tahoe 26.2 vs. 26.1 to justify an updated book, but we’ll keep an eye on things and update in the future if/when conditions warrant.

The reason why RAM has become four times more expensive is that a huge amount of RAM that has not yet been produced was purchased with non-existent money to be installed in GPUs that also have not yet been produced, in order to place them in data centers that have not yet been built, powered by infrastructure that may never appear, to satisfy demand that does not actually exist and to obtain profit that is mathematically impossible
