there is no politician so irreplaceable that we must overlook sexual misconduct because nobody else could possibly fill their shoes
I have scones, fresh from the oven, and jam and clotted cream in my fridge.
How does this work? Does the Artemis II crew now become the Fantastic Four?
My heart grew three sizes after watching this video.
But also: in the 70s/80s, there was a lot of talk about the chemical blob in the St. Clair River — a weird artifact of the petrochemical plants just south of Sarnia.
You know *me*. You can take the trans weirdo out of Sarnia, but you can’t take Sarnia out of the trans weirdo.
Yeah, I’m learning. I sometimes forget how awful the politicians from Sarnia end up being.
The federal government has ended funding for missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
See how Indigenous leaders are standing up for the cause, tonight on APTN National News.

Looks like she's been a bit... uneven about conversation therapy:
"Gladu also originally opposed a Liberal bill to ban conversion therapy [...]. She later issued a statement saying she "vehemently" opposes conversion therapy and supports the LGBTQ+ community."
Do you fight crime? Please tell me that you fight crime.
This is a hate crime.
I've basically been following this Scott McCloud approach for years and years:

And it does take a bit of getting used to, but I think I'm getting the hang of it.
I gave up (most of) my Adobe license a while ago. And now, for the first time in a while, I'm doing comics stuff that I historically did in Illustrator, like lettering.
I can open some of my original lettering files in Affinity Designer, but I decided to finally take a crack at the Clip Studio way.
I remember Stephen’s speech at Jack Layton’s funeral: it still sticks with me as one of the most memorable eulogies for a politician that I’ve ever heard.
Oh, wow. So close on the heels of Avi’s win.
I fully expect to see any number of editorials like this in the mainstream media.
I love this.
Lewis: “The prime minister is very popular at the moment. He’s a smart guy, and many Canadians still want to give him the benefit of the doubt. That’s fair.”
“But I think when you connect the dots, his moves do not add up to the vision that Canadians truly want and deserve in this perilous moment.”
So, I accept that this isn't *really* Apple's fault. But Apple took my money for the product and what I want them to offer is a way to say "hey, look. There's a problem with what you sold me. Can someone take a look at this please?"
I suspect that New Line, when asked to provided language metadata for stuff believes that Canada should get either English (which they wrongly suspect should be en-US) or French (which they assign as "anything else"). New Line, like America in general, is just bad at "other nations".
Mostly, I think that American companies (such as New Line Cinema, the distributor of the LotR films) don't understand how Locales work.
The set-up process for the Apple TV ends up setting a Locale of "Canadian English" (en-CA) on my machine. This is, importantly, not en-US.
A photo of (some of) the movies in my Apple TV movies list.
Here's another gripe in the same vein: this is a photo of the "movies" in my "purchased movies" list on my Apple TV:
Note my _Lord of the Rings_ films. Weirdly, the movie "posters" are the French-language version of the posters. Why? Who knows!?! Are they French versions? No.
And, y'know, I strongly suspect that this isn't even an Apple thing. The owners of the show (NBC...?) probably manage things like uploading the content, managing different offerings including the descriptions, titles, etc.
Almost-certainly, NBC screwed this up.
A screenshot of the Mac TV app showing the box set of _The Good Place_, specifically missing an episode.
It was finally at a price point that I was up for owning a copy. So I bought it. And re-watched it.
And discovered that it's missing one episode: episode three of season 3.
Most of my annoyances originate with the content: the rules and curation of the content and so forth.
Last week, for example, I noticed that Apple TV was having a sale on the "box set" of _The Good Place_. I liked _The Good Place_, and I'd considered buying the box set a few times.
I'm a pretty unapologetic Apple fangrrl. I own many, many Apple products, and generally love them all. But the one that frustrates me more than any other is the Apple TV.
I was an early adopter of the Apple TV. To this day, I watch essentially all of my media via the Apple TV.
Avi Lewis wins leadership of the federal NDP.
He first impressed me with this introductory video:
