Finally went back and read AD&D 1e and wow. Kind of showcases what's missing from the 2024/25 rules. The future for me might be back in those older editions.

Oh good. The login still works. Heh.
The tension of social media for me is that due to scale it's unrealistic to expect everyone I talk with be able to respond and carry on a conversation. What that means is that I just speak at people as if they're walls. Blegh.
Another substack post from last week - about my West Marches campaign - open.substack.com/pub/movieguy...
Wrote this during the threat of evacuation last week. Had everything packed up and ready to go and got an itch to start a Substack: open.substack.com/pub/movieguy...
Didn't have an image associated with it. Sorry.
Still here. Just trying to figure out what I’m hoping to get out of this social network. I’m not really here to follow content or get news or engage in any discourse. Looking to converse about interests and hobbies.
Write a thing about games. You should read it and we should talk about it.
The 2024 PHB and DMG have some stellar organization and it has made many aspects of being a DM a lot easier and more fun for me. That said, it's been hard to convert my 5E West Marches over, and having to parse two versions of everything has been tough.
After Life is the second rewatch that hit me hard, and the gist is that when Buffy is brought back to life, it's assumed she's returned from a hell dimension, when in fact she was pulled from something akin to heaven. I'm still thinking about this moment with Buffy and Spike.
In my rewatch of Buffy two episodes have really hit me hard - The Body and After Life. If you want some insight into receiving world-shattering tragic news and how that affects EVERYTHING, there's no better episode than The Body. It's a hard episode for me to watch because I've been Buffy.
I never really saw many people in my feeds talk about Dragon's Dogma 2 all that much and that's too bad. It's an interesting game and full of all kinds of little imperfections that make it one of the more unique RPG experiences of the year.
So, Dragon's Dogma 2 has certainly been eating up my free time. Still way too early in my playthrough to have much more to say other than I think it might be one of the best ways to depict the actual distance of travel between towns and villages.
Is there a simplified explainer of YouTube subscriptions and super chats out there for someone out of touch like myself?
I'm incredibly frustrated with the sizing in Men's pants, specifically jeans. I'm not the same size across brands, nor across different styles. The jeans I'm wearing right now are 38x34 (a rarity, I know), and they swim on me. That same waist on another pair doesn't even make it up past the knees.
Today is recording day for @thesedemondayz.bsky.social and I'm excited to get back behind the microphone again. If all you TTRPG and Baldur's Gate 3 folks haven't checked us out yet I HIGHLY recommend it. 😈🎧👂
My RPG plate is delightfully full with Cyberpunk 2077/PL and Baldur's Gate 3. Pretty much has everything I want between those two games.
Shot of the night sky, cloudy.
Night sky.
What does this place do different from Twitter? What’s its innovation in the social media space?
Is there a fidget device out there that works best for someone like me who picks at bug bites or has aggravations/stress?
Yeah. He’s old and set in his ways. Took a bit to even get him to eat what we get now (when the other flavor sold out).
Always nice to find out when I need to make the order that the cat food my cat WILL EAT is out of stock.
COMBAT! Thanks to an impulsive Taslinn, the fight is underway to defeat Bonhart and save the gnomes.
Chapter 133 - Mushroom Mayhem
athpod.com/2023/09/29/c...
Finally got the episode out, no thanks to my busy schedule. Sheesh. Love that we turned this combat into one big mushroom sound effects session. :P
Despite work doing everything in its power to eat up all my time, I managed to get the next episode of @thesedemondayz.bsky.social edited and ready for tomorrow. Lots of mushroom sounds.
I work with a lot of producers that could really take some time to learn how to interface with editors. We generally aren't there on location/set and can only approach the footage as we receive it. Asking for the shot of the Oober Goober activation makes no sense to us. Be specific.
The BG3 soundtrack is fantastic.
5-year-old snuck off to a corner of the house and cut her hair. Surprisingly, it didn’t turn out too bad. Probably would have been a better lesson if it had.
I'm having an organizational crisis as a DM/GM. The apps aren't working and I just can't seem to find the right Google Drive workflow. I'm not entirely sure how to proceed either. I'm even having a harder time keeping my "mostly organized" current campaign together. Sigh.
Out of all the things that excited me about the new Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update, it was the ability to untrack quests that had me the most hyped.
With the iPhone 15 that puts me about four versions back unless there are extra versions I'm not remembering. My 11 is still running great and I'm frankly kind of impressed.
