Up into the 70s today but back into the 60s for the rest of the week. This lets laziness win and I’ll leave my portable AC unit in the back of the closet another week.
I’ve been considering a small window unit in my bedroom, but like every year lamenting that I have vertical vs sliding windows.
Seems like this was immediately preceded by the headline “scientists gave a bunch of scientists cocaine. This is what happened next.”
When I am my most frustrated with them over the years, I think they are a park and ride developer surprised they have to run and maintain trains.
Even if she wasn’t really the best fit overall— of the things I appreciated about Julie Timm was her strong interest in rider experience.
This is such sad news. I have loved them less in the Fuel era, but still a serious blow for our little Hilltop micro-hood.
It’s so funny when the vet writes a prescription for my cat using my last name. Like, what, you thought we were related? Do we look alike? This is just a little guy who lives in my house and eats my food! I call him Mr Banana but that’s not his real name or anything!
We are definitely facing drought as we go into summer in Washington this year. It’s a great time to make sure you’ve planned for masking and air filtration before we get to wildfire season.
Have you signed our save Graham Street light rail station petition yet? We need just a few more signatures to get to 800

I feel very sorry for Alex Karp’s fluffy white cat.
I’ve tried them in Los Angeles, they were delicious. I’ve thought about trying them on the way to work, but they don’t open until 8.
Orange tabby cat with a sign over his head. If cats could text you back, they would not.

There's a fine line between comfort clutter and depression squalor and boy do I walk that line like Johnny everloving Cash
A VCR never sold my private info to a nazi
People tried to scam insurance by dressing up as a bear and wrecking luxury cars.
"Investigators then took the video to biologists with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to also look at the video. The biologists said, 'it was clearly a human in a bear suit.'"

As ever, how our team lands will not entirely be in my control due to the typical list of corporate whatnot.
But I really can’t think of the last time I felt like I’m both emotionally drained, excited, and apprehensive all at once.
Send good thoughts my way as I navigate the next few months.
The firm hadn’t really been providing her with creative challenges for the last few years and she was poached by our former Sales VP.
The opportunity is an interesting one and I honestly think it will be good for her, and the timing might be good for us, based on changes already going on right now.
It’s been a crazy couple of weeks.
My boss gave her notice. She’d been with the company for 20 years, we’d worked together for the last 15, and co-led our Creative Services team for the last 10.
I haven’t been eating or sleeping well since I found out last Tuesday.
Today was her last day.
We start another weekend with Beatrice deciding Ramona has done something hissing-worthy. Sigh.
It's a sign of how truly things have gone off the rails that we normies have a basic understanding of the strait of hormuz and what goods (used to) flow through there.
The narrative around AI layoffs is ao backwards. Corporate boards want layoffs to juice stocks. Execs want to believe that AI will make up for the HR blood letting because they don't know where else to cut to get the demanded quarter-over-quarter growth in a stagnant economy.
Everything that’s wrong with this country. Though clearly brontosauruses are the best.
He is a certified organic banana (he’s just been peeled)
They’re good, currently snoozing on the trunk in front of the window (Beatrice) and the cat tree (Ramona). Pet sitter said they were unfazed by the hail.
One of my favorite parts of my work trip this week was a group I was facilitating a brainstorming session with asking that I start off with a report from my cat cam on what the girls were up to before we dug in.
This village uses its solar income on free communal lunches, buses and other communal efforts.“If you divide money as individual income, people feel disconnected. People who didn’t know each other for years now get to know each other within days”
I love everything about this.
I mean honestly, I found the prep annoying, but I’ve had worse experiences with my digestive system that were not as ultimately useful.
If we can save the world through ability to chase a plastic spring around the living room—Ramona is the hero we need.
The algorithm has been showing me ads for comfy looking kaftans this weekend, and I am definitely visualizing spending the summer floating around the house in one.
This thread. I have been doing this kind of work for a very long time and I know a lot about exactly this. If you want to do misconduct reporting with scared sources going up against very powerful people, and also keep your soul, it takes time. So much time. It’s very difficult. Brain meltingly so.
