The accompanying pictures are of my first tattoo depicting the inner lines of her ear and a constellation of birthmarks on my arm that look a bit like the big or little dipper, and which she got a copy of as a tattoo. We got them together, as a substitute for engagement rings.

I don't write much poetry or similar, nor read much of it other than my published friends, but I've had a few of these lines percolating in my head for a long time and wanted to do something with them so I think threw this together on the metro just now. It's about an ex, which is probably clear.
