Make him do the math. Hand him a pen and paper. Let him use his phone. Show everyone how that is a 600% reduction. Go ahead.

My friend Dave has had a run of bad luck recently. If you can spare anything to help him out, please do- anything helps. Thank you.

If my math is correct, a 30% unemployment rate would be ~51 million unemployed people. That's roughly equal to the total population of the largest 67 cities in the country (from New York City down to roughly Greensboro, NC).

Is that what this guy is saying?

This is so awesome.

People should post what they want, but it definitely seems like Bluesky is somehow prioritizing sick/dying/dead dog content in my Discover feed, and it really sucks. Like a lot!

Favorite part was watching Caribou get his brain melted when Thomas dropped Can't Do Without You. Imagine having him play your tune & you are on stage for it. Insanity.

Agreed, there were no good choices, and hindsight is 20/20. But the end result was a Democratic standard bearer who had been *roundly* rejected by the most recent Democratic primary voters. Its not like she came in 3rd in 2020. She got crushed. Would've been like the GOP running Jeb Bush in '24.

Might've been helpful to run any one of the 8-9 candidates that the 2020 Democratic primary electorate preferred to Harris.

This is why there is no giving a single inch on “AI.” I do not give a fuck if “it actually is helpful for some things.”

I am one of your constituents. You need a better plan than this. Democratic "leadership" is completely absent right now.

The military's been explictly following illegal orders from Trump since st least the first killing of a boat of civilians in the Caribbean last fall, and there's no legal or institutional check on launch authority. We built a gun that was made to fire and the worst American is using it for sport.

I'm a bit of a broken record on this, but usurping the power of the purse isn't just one constitutional violation among all the many others. It is, uniquely and singularly, the death of constitutional government altogether. Game over, end of story, you now live in an autocracy.

Hey this sucks a lot and everyone involved with producing it should go sit in a corner and think about what they've done for a while.

I’m driving less. I don’t want to see the world through a driver’s eyes any more Before I began driving less, I had long had a melancholic sense that the city lifestyle I lived was cut off from the seasons and nature

From cycling under the light of moon on a beautiful night, to looking around and adding up the obscene amount of money we spend on cars, this article echoes so much of my thoughts about riding a bike and how CONNECTING it is- to people, to nature, to life- and how cars sever that connection.
