So grateful for everyone who fought for the strides made tonight to create a more vibrant and robust inner southeast via dense, affordable housing.

May the displacements end and better futures begin.

Hey friends! I currently have availability for UI/UX design/development work, but I'm also looking to be part of a team again. I've been passionate about the web platform for over 20 years, and would love to find folks that care about process and craft as much as I do. πŸ’œ

I had wanted one for so long, and I think it must have been bought on discount after the second version came out because it was almost immediately replaced by Mario Paint, my ultimate art and music production app. 😍

Over a decade later, I'd get myself a purple Wacom Graphire 3. Terrible fidelity spared only by Flash's line smoothing. Had more use storing drawings and lettering under the removable plastic top.

Save cartridges were sold separately, but it was plugged into the VCR, so I would switch the source when someone wanted to watch TV and hope no one would turn it off.

I still remember a rose I spent hours on and was so proud of, and how it felt to press the power button and watch it go black. 😭

Quick reminder, especially if you’re a freelancer or developer using Free/Pro/Pro+ plans for client work: Opt out of GitHub using your data for AI model training before April 24 (seriously, wtf that this isn’t opt-in!).

Per Wiki, the following year they released another version specifically for Meta's headsets, and then subsequently two more versions for Snap's AR glasses.

They also worked with Apple's Vision Pro and used "climate change" and "mental health" org collabs to get even more data. Insidious stuff.

In 2023, Niantic's failed pet sim Peridot was allowing minors to post entire videos to public, global chatrooms of them walking around their bedrooms, homes, and neighborhoods. When people would respond under the videos asking why they could see them, previously chatty staff would magically vanish.

The "why can't I hold all these limes" meme but with multiple screenshots of the "Recall process for City elected officials" page from the Portland.gov website. It includes a tiny Governor Tina Kotek for good measure.

Made this during the election fiasco and didn't post it, but the sentiment remains.

Incredible article detailing humiliating behind-the-scenes behavior of nearly half our city council and those pulling the strings, esp during the clown show that was our council president elections.

Grateful to have Jeremiah, the Mercury, and the progressive caucus calling these embarrassments out.

Miriam Suzanne Miriam is a hybrid artist based in Denver, CO – creating visual art & pottery & novels & music & theater. But also yarn crafts...

There are a lot of causes that need help today. I'll be donating to trans orgs in red states as well. But any #pottery sales today and tomorrow will go to support families at a south Minneapolis Public School:

The web is immeasurably worse with so many of our modern knowledge bases on a single, gated platform.

A generation of information lost and never indexable to anyone besides by a company that paywalls gradients, GIFs, and usernames over long-requested safety/QoL features or a usable interface.

Adobe is once again leaving some of their largest, most long-standing clients out to dry because it was more important to embed tools that don't work and ways to train on art that isn't theirs.

This multi-year campaign of not listening to your users has been such innovative, subversive marketing. To abandon Servo only to destroy faith in your own brand in order to elevate them as the rightful successor?

Kind of an anti-ARG, but great storytelling nonetheless.

From the UXDesign community on Reddit: PSA for Figma Admins: This AI setting is quietly enabled by default Explore this post and more from the UXDesign community

As if Figma didn't already burn enough trust with designers, now they are also silently opting everyone in to let them train their AI on your work.

For the time being, you can opt out in the settings. But for how much longer?
