I remember it fondly. And with a little sadness that those days are over.

So long Frank Gehry.

Your ability to eat should not depend on your productivity

Your ability to get healthcare should not depend on your productivity

Your ability to get housing should not depend on your productivity

Saying “be more productive!” To those who are struggling devalues human life.

It aids fascism.

I started using a Linux-based OS in 1996. I've installed Slackware from floppies. I was VP of my LUG in college. I compiled my own kernel for years. I've run Linux on Sparc, x86, amd64, PowerPC, and multiple flavors of ARM.

Telling me to "Run Linux" solves zero of my computing problems. Thanks.

This is Dumbo, Mela, Peaches, and Chiquis. They are a championship napping team. Their built-in sleep masks give them that competitive edge. 13/10 for all (TT: brokeboilopez)

I'm not convinced 18 year-olds are old enough to vote, let alone anyone younger. But then, I'm not convinced democracy works...

I'm not ADHD, but I do this. However, I do sort and process them a few times a year.

Computers used to scream every time they connected to the Internet. They knew. They tried to warn us. We did not listen.

That you acknowledge a 'male' and 'female' brain supports my point. In general, men and women are wired differently. My argument is that we don't fix the aspects of the 'male' brain, that a vocal minority don't like, by encouraging men to behave with more of a 'female' brain.

I fundamentally disagree, and the animal Kingdom supports me entirely. It's too easy to forget we carry millions of years of evolution which informs the way our brains operate. The effect make and female hormones has on brain development and function cannot be dismissed.

A few examples would be risk-taking, competitiveness, and emotional suppression. All things beneficial in traditional (most of the last 150,000 years of human society) male roles. Society has changed greatly, but our innate traits have not.

Yucky? Don't put words in my mouth. If you'd read ANY of the clinical literature on this subject, you would know that what is often claimed to be toxic masculinity are traditionally male traits. When asked what traits aren't toxic, women list female traits. Your kneejerk reaction exposed your bias.

Don't put words in my mouth. Nothing you've said reflects well on you. You haven't the faintest idea what I know about or care about so I'll thank you to keep whatever twisted model you have of me, and other men you don't know, to yourself to avoid further embarrassment.

Your prejudices are obvious, and your problem to solve. I can say otherwise with total conviction. Myself, and my friends do not seek to dominate anyone, and we are in no way violent. That you seek to paint so many of us as thugs just shows how disconnected from reality you are.

Adult men aren't emotionally intelligent? Not decent? THAT's heinous.

As long as we stop trying to 'fix' men by making them behave more like women.

I wish people would stop describing things that are indisputably provable as a matter of fact as "controversial." People not liking a fact doesn't mean the fact is controversial. Reality is not malleable around our beliefs and it shouldn't be. We need to stop acting like it is.

This nostalgia is particularly misplaced. People remember hundreds of workers on lines operating everything from spot welders to sewing machines from fifty years ago.

THAT NO LONGER HAPPENS.

Manufacturing has completely changed, and is now almost all automatic.

Every time I hear the Spice Girls on the radio I'm reminded of just how awful their music and lyrics were. Truly a lowering of the bar.
