One definite similarity--and I imagine you have this in mind--is that Denver seemed absolutely gassed at the end of both games. I was really struck by that in Game 7 two years ago--once the Wolves pulled ahead a bit, it just seemed like Denver was too tired to do much (which was surprising!).

There was no excuse for that. Absolutely worth it to risk a fourth foul on Julius by keeping him on Jokic. Just a poor choice.
They’re doing a terrible job and making the game unpleasant to watch.
Yeah I was thinking 70% earlier. Still making some good plays, but he just doesn’t seem to have nearly enough.
It's certainly akin to puerile high school shit, but I don't think it's treating "sexual orientation as a pejorative." Obviously InfoWars/Alex Jones is horribly bigoted against LGBTQ folks. Buying their logo/giving it pride colors is a troll move, but it's not a "ha ha you're gay which is bad" move.
Naz Reid.
The crowd he's speaking to seemed to love it, so is his thinking that a cry of "fuck those people who often vote Dem but didn't once or twice" rallies his version of the base for GOTV work? Does he hope some people who didn't vote for Clinton or Harris see his speech and are duly chastened?
I am really curious as to whether ostensible Dem leaders like Cory Booker will ever come around to the idea that "some of you voters really suck!" is a shitty electoral message. It would be interesting to make Booker explain what he thinks he is trying to accomplish with these remarks--I've no clue.
I think Randle needed to have a killer run in the playoffs--akin to what he did last year in the first two series--in order to be brought back, and arguably that's already out the window based on yesterday's performance. At this point I think they should just get what they can for him.
In 4-5 years, at least one Vikings beat writer will put out a "Was Kyler Murray a More Successful Vikings QB Than Kirk Cousins?" piece during the offseason doldrums, and we'll all hate the article, even though it's well-written, because it will be a difficult and depressing question to answer.
I wrote a whole book about AI but I agree with this completely — and also the implication that there are countless other areas of research more important than AI.
We all have days like this
"The University of California system, the California State system, the City University of New York — these are the institutions actually educating America’s workforce, actually moving first-generation students into the middle class, actually delivering on higher education’s democratic promise."
If sandwich I will fly to Minnesota from East Coast, but I don't think TSA will ever approve me for pre-check at this point. Still...sandwich.
Perfect timing, I think, for a piece like this one. Who knows what the future holds for this team or this extremely-fun-to-root-for trio, but what they've already done deserved a glossy, looking-back article. (Very cool that they've played together more than any NBA threesome--did not know that!)
"The rise of extreme wealth is one of the clearest signs of this imbalance. In 1987, billionaires held wealth equal to 3% of global GDP. Today this tiny elite, just 0.0001% of the world population, owns the equivalent of *16%* of world GDP in wealth."
Ofc, there's nothing new about this. And (for me at least) D&G help with making sense of how sadism and desire for one's own repression go hand in hand in (broadly speaking) fascist movements
INBOX: Amid rising tendons between Trump and Pope Leo, the administration has abruptly canceled an $11 million contract with Catholic Charities to shelter and care for migrant children who enter the U.S. alone, ending a relationship dating back to the first arrivals of Cuban exiles in South Florida.
I read this post as a reference to the Darmok episode of Star Trek TNG--please confirm or deny at your leisure.
It's a good edit, but can we just do vanceplaining?
okc t-under
I think what the Dems did with Liz Cheney was quite different. They didn’t just vaguely ally with her or gesture towards her anti-Trump work and rhetoric—they campaigned loudly with her and trumpeted her support. I think doing so was a significant mistake. What Omar seems to be saying is different.
Absolutely. And folks who do that sort of chastising might have a similarly poor attitude toward life, thinking it has some magical destination (it does not!). The Wolves have been (largely) fun to watch since that first play-in season--start by appreciating/enjoying that fact. It ain't always true!
It certainly is!
I think the biggest thing you hear from the left is that there is somehow always hundreds of billions of dollars to fight horrifying wars of choice that presidents force upon us, and which kill many thousands and echo for decades, yet there isn’t enough money to make sure basic human needs are met.
In my view, she now deserves to be in the Lynx starting lineup.
My Mail-In Time Travel Ballot already showed up tomorrow, and I'll be sure to fill it out last weekend.
I'm sure many of us already do so, but it should be standard practice to block accounts that consistently post obviously AI-generated slop (if it's a one-off or you're not sure if they understand what they're posting, a friendly reply seems appropriate). Too much of this shit is seeping in.
Good thread on trash to avoid.
