'Road Runner'.........
....well not quite, as a Great Crested Grebe runs across Chard Reservoir #Somerset this misty Monday morning. ๐
Mark, that is a wonderful set of images. Especially, away from the path and food that have featured in so many of the images posted over the last few days across social media platforms.
A very local Hoopoe at the weekend showed very well just as the sun was going down. The crest went up when the Starling landed close by.
What was more delightful was a family living just up the road came to see this Hoopoe and the children were so excited to see it. ๐
A somewhat short courtship weed dance from this pair of Great Crested Grebes on the #Somerset Levels this week. Other pairs are already sitting on eggs. ๐

Singing Wren, firstly on its own, what a great voice. Then accompanied with a booming Bittern. Seen and heard and heard this week on the amazing #Somerset Levels.

English #Bluebells in #Somerset are probably 3 weeks early this year and most likely be over by the end of April. Trying a new method to photograph single stems in a local wood this afternoon. Here are a couple of examples. Very little post processing, all the work done when taking the photograph. ๐
In the bird seed margins around a few fields in South #Somerset the local wildlife finds plenty of food and shelter.
In this particular field a Roe Deer can be seen looking out to the left.

At Forde Abbey #Dorset. hidden away under the trees the Dog's Tooth Violet is now in full bloom. A spectacular flower which lasts for only a few days.

The rising #Sun this morning with a hint of Jupiter or Saturn in its appearance.

Gossamer spider webs alongside the River Parrett this morning. These webs consist of thin sheets of silk produced by small spiders. In the background is a Great Egret which are now fairly common across the Somerset Levels and Moors.
