Yup.

Should come as no surprise really. Most of big tech relies on ads for its business model.

We’ll see more of this I expect…

“Watch ad to continue”

Yeah, these are all tools and I don’t particularly care about the tool used - I rather care about the content.

If a contributor wants me to pay extra attention because, say, they’re not well versed in $lang , I’d rather they owned up to that rather than … blame the LLM .

I guess it can simply be a matter of maintainer preference then?

I would personally hold contributors up to the same standards regardless of whether they used GenAI or not.

And I’d hate to have to add the same in my review, if I use AI to help me, or offer ad space by mentioning specific tools

sorry, I completely missed this reply. : /

I'm curious: Why do you find that important? 🤔

An agent is not a human that can be held accountable, so I guess you're talking about the commit author? Are they less accountable if they include `X-Agent-Aided` ?

My first #GreeceJS meetup was a wonderful return to that cosy feeling of getting together with colleagues, in a nice, friendly atmosphere!

Chatting about how we're all learning (or struggling to), how we're succeeding (or failing) with agentic workflows & more

Thanks for organising #GreeceJS team!

OH: Back when we used to write code.

Thanks for elaborating!

Appreciate the different perspective!

Presumably that is because the people in “co-authored-by” are expected to still be around when it’s time to ask them?

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

Oh I absolutely agree they do!

Shouldn’t the human committer be the one responsible for catching that though?

Feels a little unfair to push that to the reviewer, no?

1 month ago 0 1 0 0

Might I ask why disclosure is important?

Are human authors any less responsible if they write that?
(I don’t feel I am if I commit any AI-assisted code. Responsibility still lies with me.)

Or are you concerned about potential copyright infringement?

1 day later, here's what #claude had added to my `.git/config`:

```
$ tail -n 3 .git/config
[user]
email = noreply@anthropic.com
name = Claude
```

Tsk tsk tsk... Bad form #Anthropic. Bad form!

So I added the below instruction to my AGENTS .md , (linked to from CLAUDE .md):

**NEVER** add "co-authored-by claude code" or any similar content in my commit messages. Or "Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>", etc.

"Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com>" is a neat trick by #Anthropic to use our commits as FREE AD SPACE for their brand name.

Let's just say I was not impressed ... [1/3]

This is Nathan Cavanaugh, another DOGE staffer explaining how he flagged grants at NEH for "DEI" which would be reviewed for termination. 404 Media has reviewed hours of this footage and we'll have more soon.

UPDATE: The European Parliament voted today to *end* untargeted mass scanning of private communications, firmly rejecting the error-prone and unconstitutional surveillance practices of recent years! Next: trilogue negotiations w/ Commission and Council.

Great Engineers know what NOT to build.

Remember that.

Remember it is your responsibility to PUSH BACK when asked to build something you shouldn't be building.

Wheel has already been invented.
It's out there, open source. ;)

The neighborhood theater is showing a chilling horror movie about a European beauty who marries a bloodthirsty, ancient, parasitic monster, and also Dracula.

Can't believe how far @peergos.org has progressed since I tried it a few years ago - great FOSDEM presentation by @ianopolous.bsky.social

The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

I can’t stress this enough. The state of 4th Amendment law is that the cops can’t force you to type in a passcode but they can force you to swipe your finger or present your face. Never stop using passcodes/passwords to unlock your devices. And consider additional code to unlock Signal.

My only problem, after I got comfortable with it, is that I'm now having a hard time going back to Slack/Discord !

... despite how enticing copy-pasting that code may seem!!

Stay laser-focused on solving your unique business domain challenges with your code and keep on building on the shoulders of giants for anything else.

Opting to take on entire maintenance ownership for some general-purpose piece of code that has already been:
- peer-reviewed,
- tested,
- verified as working by (usually) hundreds of others,

is neither smart, nor a good use of your time / budget.

Public Service Announcement (PSA):

Just because Claude / Gemini / Copilot / $LLM can spit out some random bash script / library code that seems to replace an #OpenSource library, please remember to **STOP** yourselves by using it that way.
