I can now affirm that Alan Davies is a thoroughly decent and very entertaining human being. We had a really fantastic chat about all manner of things @cuirtfestival.bsky.social this evening. One of the nicest interviews I’ve ever been involved in.

Writing up a couple of commissions. I love the research. Trying to find an angle. #qwerty Two largely forgotten singer/songwriters.
Hmmmm.
Seems every celebrity photo feature requires a dog or cat. I can't stand a dog or cat or any pet anywhere near me. I reckon I am not alone.
Pewter Falk. such a great actor. More than the magnificent Columbo
Why is abbreviate such a long word? (Bob Monkhouse)

Nice writing gig just in, about space and broadcasting and a 15-year-old's excitement. Can't wait to get stuck in. #qwerty
So, this is the situation in big season, Dublin - only Louise O’Neill standing between me and total (very temporary) fiction domination. #FewAndFarBetween
Mini-cathedral tour this week took in Bath (Abbey, okay), Wells, Gloucester, Hereford, Worcester. Magnificence beyond belief. Here's Wells.
Plan for tonight = watch episode of Miss Marple with Alan Davies in it as preparation for interviewing him on Wednesday. (Have already watched the episode of Lewis he’s in so that’s basically an hour of chat covered)
I’m going to be on the Brendan O’Connor show on RTE Radio 1 at 11:05am talking about #FewAndFarBetween listen live or catch up via this link www.rte.ie/radio/radio1...
Awesome week on a mini cathedral/abbey tour - Bath, Wells, Gloucester, and today, Hereford. Amazing architecture and history. The building detail, interiors and exteriors, is jaw-dropping.
Morning spent visiting the splendid Holburne Museum, Bath. Two very different exhibitions on at the moment: wildly colourful fashion celebrating Zandra Rhodes; powerful photo-journalism by Don McCullin. Brilliant.
Stephen Boyd. The Man Called Noon (1973)
Two commissioned pieces sent off today. One at over 1,800 words and a tiddler at 250. #qwerty
@jancarsonwrites.bsky.social You've probably seen this already. From today's Sunday Post.
It is The Limey. Stand corrected. He had the look and quite a career. 👍
One of my favourite actors. Here's a signed photo from my collection of Terence which I think is from The Hit.
When I was a lot younger, Gerry Fitt was a politician in Northern Ireland. SDLP. A grounded man who seemed to think representing people was an honourable job. Hang on, he was right! Took a lot of heat and death threats. Great man. 9 April 1926 - 26 August 2005. Aged 79.
Heard about this book on a @mrjamesob.bsky.social podcast. Bought it today and can't wait to get stuck in.
Day trip to London to see one of our three grandsons. This one is 6, soon to be 7. What a beautiful, talkative little boy. Adorable. Lucky Granda!
'Livin' on Jacks and Queens' legend.
2025/26 A good year from freelance writing. Fees paid. Encouragement. Onward. QWERTY
Went to my bank today. 7 in the queue, person at kiosk starts a conversation about closing her account. Yawn. One bank assistant on duty. Two windows. Jeez. You could boil three eggs. Walked away. Had a life to live.
The great John Prine died at 73 this day in 2020. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZXg...
Read this book for the first time last week and then watched the film. A bit of prep for the stage play in May. Great book, great film, great Burton and, hopefully, great play.
