Absolutely! Even the climbs that don't have categorisation (e.g. Long Hill) are super pretty. I can't wait for the shots at Winnats though - it's going to be so much fun

Reminded of lots of what @ardernkate.bsky.social and @profdonnahall.bsky.social champion and what I learned from @evefrancisholt.bsky.social and @hayleylever.bsky.social in the community x whole system space.

Doesn't matter *how* you do it. It only matters that you *are* doing it.

Well done, Altra 👏🏼

Shame isn't a motivator for physical activity and getting outside. It does the opposite! And perceived superiority shouldn't be a motivator for those that already do it. If you're punching down you've lost.

Just seen these Nike ads and they miss the mark completely. Really dull stuff. And the ones at the Parkrun event? Extra frustrating given the free-event's aims, inclusivity, and community-focus.

Hah, tell me! It's an exhausting daily exercise in lateral thinking overcoming resignation.

Turns out both West Coast (overhead cable issues) and East Coast (trespasser) lines were virtually out of action yesterday evening and into the night. Some on East Coast got home at 0400 😬

Unless...when paying I can say all my cards have been cancelled and there will be no replacement payment services on this route.

If you cancel *all* services I think you should put on alternative transport options. I don't think you can simply advise not to travel - there are already many people in the system travelling!

Vaccines a huge success, but public trust must be earned - key findings from Covid report Immunisation saved hundreds of thousands of UK lives, but vaccine hesitancy remains an issue.

The learning set out here re the pandemic response - vaccines are effective, needs community buy-in, need to think laterally to work with orgs and communities to build trust - are more than applicable across public health and, indeed, a variety of other policy areas. Just needs one more step!

UK lenders begin cutting mortgage rates after month of turmoil Santander, TSB and Coventry are among the lenders to reduce costs of their fixed-rate deals this week

“It seems as though some lenders may have adopted an overcautious approach on pricing as volatility in swaps made it hard to set mortgage rates. Those with the cheapest rates saw service levels suffer, and in some instances products have been pulled at short notice.”

These GDP figures combined with the falling inflation trend from February, the month before the war in the Middle East, show(ed) real promise.

Britain managed to offload £15 billion of a new 10-year gilt today at a sale via syndication - and attracted record orders too.

But at quite a high cost. With a yield of 4.9158%, it was the most expensive sale of 10-year bonds since an auction in July 2008.

Lots to consider regarding #NPPF changes. I'm broadly positive about the potential but detail is needed.

Good to contribute to this discussion alongside @local.gov.uk, @cihhousing.bsky.social, @natfednews.bsky.social, and the BPF.

Iran allows 15 ships through Strait of Hormuz Over 40 nations agree to increase diplomatic pressure to unblock Strait of Hormuz while Trump posts social media threats and expletives.

"Maritime analytics firm Windward reported a total of 20 transits of the Strait - 14 outbound and 6 inbound - in a 24 hour period on Sunday. This is the highest number of transits since war started on 28 February but only a seventh of the historic average of 138 per day."

Buckling up for the stagflation trade What can investors do?

"So, what can investors do to prepare for the possibility of lower growth and higher inflation at the same time? It’s tricky. Step one, says @duncanlamont2.bsky.social at Schroders, is not to panic."
